Pipe joint, separation prevention member, and method of connecting pipes
A pipe joint includes: a sealing member, having an annular shape, which is provided between the outer circumferential surface of a spigot and an inner circumferential surface of a socket; a pushing ring to push the sealing member into the socket, the pushing ring being fitted onto the spigot; and a separation preventive member configured to engage with the spigot protrusion part in a pipe-axial direction to prevent a separation of the spigot from the socket. The separation preventive member is provided between an inner circumferential surface of the pushing ring and the outer circumferential surface of the spigot. The sealing member is provided along an outer circumferential surface of the spigot protrusion part and includes a compression part. The compression part is compressed in a pipe-radial and is located, in the socket, upstream of the spigot protrusion part in an insertion direction in which the spigot is inserted.
PIPE DETACHMENT PREVENTING DEVICE FOR UNION NUT PIPE FITTING
Provided is a pipe detachment preventing device, for a union nut pipe fitting, which can omit an inner core and which can prevent detachment of a pipe from a pipe fitting even when a large pulling force which stretches the pipe acts. Connection holding means (7) includes an inclination mechanism (8) configured to incline a retaining ring (4A) in a pipe axis direction (X) with respect to a reference plane (P) orthogonal to a central axis (C) of a retaining ring body (40), such that one of a circumferential center portion (40y) and a circumferential end portion (40x) of a retaining ring body (40A) is caused to be closer to a fitting body (2) and the other is moved away from the fitting body (2), when first protruding portions (41) and first facing portions (55) come into contact with each other and a pipe pulling force which stretches a joint pipe (100) is applied to the joint pipe (100).
PIPE DETACHMENT PREVENTING DEVICE FOR UNION NUT PIPE FITTING
Provided is a pipe detachment preventing device, for a union nut pipe fitting, which can omit an inner core and which can prevent detachment of a pipe from a pipe fitting even when a large pulling force which stretches the pipe acts. APPARATUS FOR SEALING A PIPE
A sealing device for sealing a free end of a generally tubular object, the sealing device comprising: a main body comprising either a sleeve which may, when the sealing device is engaged with the free end of a generally tubular object, surround the free end of the generally tubular object, or a protrusion which may, when the sealing device is engaged with the free end of the generally tubular object, be inserted into the interior of the free end of the generally tubular object; a grip arrangement which is connected to or supported by the main body, and positioned to be against or adjacent a surface of the generally tubular object when the sealing device is engaged with the free end of the generally tubular object, wherein the grip arrangement is radially moveable with respect to a central axis of the main body; and a grip drive arrangement operable to drive the grip arrangement radially with respect to the central axis of the main body, towards the surface of the generally tubular object.
APPARATUS FOR SEALING A PIPE
A sealing device for sealing a free end of a generally tubular object, the sealing device comprising: a main body comprising either a sleeve which may, when the sealing device is engaged with the free end of a generally tubular object, surround the free end of the generally tubular object, or a protrusion which may, when the sealing device is engaged with the free end of the generally tubular object, be inserted into the interior of the free end of the generally tubular object; a grip arrangement which is connected to or supported by the main body, and positioned to be against or adjacent a surface of the generally tubular object when the sealing device is engaged with the free end of the generally tubular object, wherein the grip arrangement is radially moveable with respect to a central axis of the main body; and a grip drive arrangement operable to drive the grip arrangement radially with respect to the central axis of the main body, towards the surface of the generally tubular object.
Bolted duct joints
A first duct segment may include a first flange including a first planar mating face and a first recess. A second duct segment may include a second flange including a second planar mating face and a second recess. The first duct segment and the second duct segment may be installed in a gas turbine engine. A first E-seal may be inserted in the first recess, and a second E-seal may be inserted in the second recess. A gap may be measured between the first flange and the second flange. A flat shim may be selected based on the size of the gap. The flat shim may be inserted between the first flange and the second flange. A plurality of bolts may be inserted through the first flange, the flat shim, and the second flange to seal the first duct segment to the second duct segment.
Joint restraint device
A gland includes an annular ring, the annular ring defining a gland bore, the gland bore defining a gland axis; and a joint restraint assembly, the joint restraint assembly includes a restraint base, the restraint base attached to the annular ring, the restraint base defining a restraint pocket; the restraint pocket comprising a restraint pivot disposed within the restraint pocket; a gripper, the gripper disposed within the restraint pocket, the gripper engaging the restraint pivot, the gripper configured to rotate about the restraint pivot; and a spring clip disposed within the restraint pocket, the spring clip biasing the gripper to rotate inwards towards the gland axis.
Joint restraint device
A gland includes an annular ring, the annular ring defining a gland bore, the gland bore defining a gland axis; and a joint restraint assembly, the joint restraint assembly includes a restraint base, the restraint base attached to the annular ring, the restraint base defining a restraint pocket; the restraint pocket comprising a restraint pivot disposed within the restraint pocket; a gripper, the gripper disposed within the restraint pocket, the gripper engaging the restraint pivot, the gripper configured to rotate about the restraint pivot; and a spring clip disposed within the restraint pocket, the spring clip biasing the gripper to rotate inwards towards the gland axis.
RIGID ENTRY FITTING FOR FLEXIBLE PIPE
A rigid entry fitting configured to form a seal between a flexible pipe segment and a sump wall includes a fitting body having an inner surface defining a tapered opening, an insert received in the tapered opening, a shell received in an opening of the insert, a first pair of gaskets between an outer surface of the insert and the inner surface of the fitting body, a second pair of gaskets contacting an inner surface of the shell and opposite ends of the insert, and a nut configured to engage threads on an outer surface of the fitting body. When the nut is threaded onto the threads, the nut presses the shell and the insert into the tapered opening and presses the first pair of gaskets against the inner surface of the fitting body and the second pair of gaskets against the outer surface of the flexible pipe segment.
ANTI-ROTATION FLUID CONNECTION
Disclosed is a connector for connecting one fluid handling device (52) such as a conduit to another fluid handling device (70) such as another conduit in which the faces of fittings (54) attached to glands (50) in the connector are given complementary mating configurations (58, 60, 82) so they can mesh that lack circular symmetry so that the faces do not rotate with respect to one another when the faces are subjected to torque when a connection is being made.
