Assembling flanged couplings

A pulling and alignment system for flanged components has pairs of flange attachments fixed to respective flanges of components that are to be pulled together and aligned for coupling. A puller device is supported by a flange attachment of each pair. A flexible elongate pulling link extends between the flange attachments of the pair and is engaged by, and movable relative to, the puller device to act in tension between those flange attachments. Each flange attachment is a flange extension that comprises an arm cantilevered from a mounting to extend beyond the flange and to hold the pulling link outboard of the flange. The pulling link is an articulated rod having a longitudinal series of rigid elements, each of those elements being pivotably coupled to at least one other of those elements.

COUPLING ASSEMBLY FOR CONNECTING PIPES, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
20220163147 · 2022-05-26 · ·

A coupling assembly for connecting pipes, and a manufacturing method is disclosed. The coupling assembly can be installed in a state in which couplers are temporarily assembled using coupling members, and does not deform during a coupling process and thus can be stably fixed even after being coupled. The coupling assembly includes two or more couplers which are arranged facing each other to connect pipes continuously disposed in the axial direction, and the pipes are connected to each other in a state which coupling members are temporarily assembled to the couplers. The couplers have catch parts inserted into coupling grooves and have inner diameters corresponding to the outer diameters of the coupling grooves. Interference preventing grooves are formed in both sides of the catch parts and prevent interference between the pipes and the catch parts allowing outer circumferential surfaces of the pipes to pass through between the temporarily assembled couplers.
