Pipe coupling
09982823 · 2018-05-29 · ·

A pipe coupling includes a rigid cylindrical member, a flexible cylindrical member and a hose clamp. The flexible cylindrical member includes a central tubular member within the rigid cylindrical member. A flexible sleeve extends beyond the rigid cylindrical member and has an inside diameter that is complimentary to a pipe. The sleeve has a first position in which the sleeve is folded back onto the rigid cylindrical member and a second position in which the sleeve is unfolded so as to envelope an end of the first pipe. The central tubular member includes a ledge that has an inside diameter corresponding to an inside diameter of the pipe.

FLEXIBLE PIPE FITTING

A flexible pipe fitting for joining a first length of pipe to a second length of pipe at an arbitrary angle is provided. The apparatus includes a primary fitting having a substantially circular opening at a first end thereof for receiving an end of a first length of pipe, and an enlarged opening at a second end thereof for receiving a first flexible coupling member. The first flexible coupling member includes an outer wall having an outer surface engaging an inner surface of the enlarged opening, and an inner wall having a lower end connected to a lower end of the outer wall. The inner wall further includes a substantially circular opening therein for receiving a second, rigid member. The inner surface of the second, rigid member is configured to receive an end of the second length of pipe. The enlarged opening in the primary fitting is preferably fish-mouth shaped, or alternatively, cone shaped. Adhesive, such as PVC cement may be used to bond the various fittings, and lengths of pipe together to form a sealed joint.

BEHAVIOR INSPECTION APPARATUS AND BEHAVIOR INSPECTION METHOD FOR EXTENSIBLE FLEXIBLE PIPE JOINT

A behavior inspection apparatus includes: a first measurement tool group including a set of first measurement tools each of which measures a first distance change amount that is a change amount of a distance between a first pipe position in the first pipe and a first reference position of a sleeve of the extensible flexible pipe joint; and a second measurement tool group including a set of second measurement tools each of which measures a second distance change amount that is a change amount of a distance between a second pipe poison in the second pipe and a second reference position of the sleeve. The first and second measurement tools are arranged at different positions in a circumferential direction of the sleeve. Displacement positions of the first and second pipes with respect to the joint are computed based on the measurement data by the first and second measurement tool groups.

Flexible alignment sealing coupling

A seal for a flexible alignment sealing coupling. The seal includes an annular member being symmetric about a longitudinal axis. The annular member has a radially inward facing surface extending an axial width between a first axial end and a second axial end. In a relaxed state of the seal, the radially inward facing surface has an asymmetric generally concave V-shaped cross section and is defined by a first section and a second section. The first section has a first seal taper angle measured relative to a line parallel to the longitudinal axis. The second section has a second seal taper angle measured relative to another line parallel to the longitudinal axis. The first seal taper angle is less than the second seal taper angle. Each of the first seal taper angle and the second seal taper angle is greater than zero degrees and less than 90 degrees.

Support for routing conduits in an aircraft wing

A routing support (64) for a conduit line fastened in openings and the line includes a plurality of conduits connected end-to-end along a longitudinal axis. The routing support (64) incorporates an outer body (66) with a structure (68) for fastening the body in an opening. The routing support also includes a housing structure to accommodate the ends of two conduits in an end-to-end arrangement and the structure may include two separate structures (one for each conduit end (72)) or a single common structure (accommodating respective ends of the two conduits). The routing support also includes a flexible interface (74) connecting the housing structure (70) to the outer body (66). In addition, the flexible interface (74) and the outer body (66) and the housing structure (70) are integral. Embodiments include a line for transporting fuel with this routing support, and an aircraft wing in which such a line/support transports fuel.

DISMANTLING JOINT
20170030501 · 2017-02-02 ·

A dismantling joint for joining a first pipeline component to a second pipeline component including a first half and a second half, the first half including a cylindrical spigot having an outer face and a flange extending outwardly from the outer face of the spigot, the flange having an inner face and an outer face remote from the inner face, and the second half including a socket adapted to slidably receive therein the spigot of the first half, the socket having a proximal end and a distal end remote from the proximal end, the proximal end being opposed to the inner face of the flange of the first half; and forcing means arranged between the inner face of the flange of the first half and the proximal end of the spigot to engage the inner face of the flange of the first half and the proximal end of the socket of the second half adjacent the outer face of the spigot to force the first and second halves away from each other.
