10005600 · 2018-06-26 · ·

A purpose is to increase a clamping force without increase in a plate thickness. A wide region (X1) is formed at one of lengthwise sides to be relatively wider and has portions bifurcated by an opening (2). A narrow region (X2) is formed at the other lengthwise side to be relatively narrower and has a portion passed between the bifurcated portions. Both widthwise side edges of the wide region (X1) are formed with respective flanges (6) by bending and a bead (7) is formed on a widthwise middle of the narrow region (X2). The flanges (6) and the bead (7) are set so that a change in a section modulus is substantially symmetric about a Y axis that is a lengthwise central axis of the hose clamp.

What is disclosed herein is a fastener device, namely a ratcheting clamp, having a reusable clamping feature. The reusable clamping feature may comprise a flexible arm. The flexible arm may comprise overlapping end portions, namely an overlapping inner end and an overlapping outer end along with a locking member for selectively engaging with a top arm. The overlapping outer end may comprise at least one tooth or a plurality of teeth positioned along the overlapping outer end. Further, the fastener device may comprise at least one optional elongated rib on the flexible arm positioned adjacent to the at least one tooth or plurality of teeth of the toothed overlapping outer end that prevents lateral movement of the toothed overlapping outer end when engaged with the locking member and exposed to lateral forces, thereby reducing the likelihood of premature failure of the fastener device. The fastener device disclosed may also utilize a reusable clamping feature. The fastener device may also comprise a cradle and an encapsulation slot for a standard tie to wrap around, thus allowing for a wide range of diameters for the cables, wires, hoses, tubing, or other materials. The fastener device may also comprise a slotted fir tree component, and a retention dish may sit on top of the slotted fir tree component to ensure the fastener device is held in place with vertical forces.

A quick connect system for joining two fluid lines has a receiver with a first end mounted to a first line, a center section to receive a tip of a second line, and a second end defining a cylindrical sleeve spaced from the second line. A snap retainer comprises a plurality of molded stave members and a tension band. Each stave member extends longitudinally from a collar section to a clip section. The stave members are arranged cylindrically to define a socket to receive the cylindrical sleeve. The tension band is secured over the collar sections to retain the stave members on the second line with the clip sections cantilevered over the tip. The clip sections each includes a hook that snaps over an external lug on the receiver so that a resilient seal is compressed between the cylindrical sleeve and the tip of the second fluid line.

A securing tool and methods for its use are described herein. In various embodiments, the securing tool may include a handle and a prying member positioned at a first end of the securing tool opposite the handle. The prying member may be shaped to engage a release of a self-tensioned hose clamp to cause the handle to be manipulable to spring the self-tensioned hose clamp. The securing tool may include first and second sensors configured to provide first and second signals, respectively, that are indicative of sensed occurrence of first and second events after the handle is manipulated to spring the self-tensioned hose clamp. In various embodiments, if the first and second signals satisfy a criterion, the hose clamp may be deemed to have been properly installed.

A purpose is to render a gripping operation of grip tabs more stable. A hose clamp includes a clamp body formed by bending a plate spring into an annular shape while two ends of the plate spring are caused to cross each other on a circumferential plane and grip tabs formed to be raised radially outward from both ends of the clamp body, respectively. An expanded-diameter state of the clamp body is retained when a locking claw is locked by a catch. The clamp body is released from the expanded-diameter state when a gripping operation is further carried out in this state. The second grip tab has a distal end formed to be wider than a distal end of the first grip tab. The distal ends of the grip tabs are bent in respective directions in which the distal ends depart from each other with respect to a thicknesswise direction, thereby serving as bent portions for the gripping operation, respectively.

According to one embodiment, a hose clamp has a leaf spring body, a slit and a first knob piece at one end, and an insertion piece and a second knob piece at the other end. An interlocking piece is formed in the first knob piece, and an engaging holding part is formed in the second knob piece. When the hose clamp is viewed from the outside in the radial direction while the leaf spring body is in a free state of being compressed, the first knob piece and the second knob piece are extended outward in the width direction so as to be separated.

The pinching operation is facilitated. A hose clamp (H1) is formed by bending a strip-like plate material (1) into a ring-like configuration, and includes a first end portion (5) having a first pinching operation surface (9), and a second end portion (6) having a second pinching operation surface (15). A through-hole (7) is open near the center in the longitudinal direction of the first pinching operation surface (9). At the time of bending into ring-like configuration, expansion regions (19) arranged at both side portions in the width direction of the second pinching operation surface (15) are folded at folding edges (20) with respect to a proximal region (18), whereby the second pinching operation surface (15) is narrowed in the width direction and can enter the through-hole (7). After bending into ring-like configuration, the expansion regions (19) are unfolded at the folding edges (20) and regain a widened state.
