A PLUMBING CONNECTOR
20230265952 · 2023-08-24 ·

A pipe connector having a body with a tubular part to seal with a pipe. The tubular part has an outer face with a projecting feature to seal with the pipe. A collet is fixed to the body and spaced from the tubular part to form a cavity for the pipe. A locking cap is captive on and screwed onto collet to deflect the collet onto the pipe and the pipe onto the tubular part to seal between the body and the pipe. The collet has through slots at its distal end allowing the pipe to be visible when the connector is locked and unlocked. The inner diameter at an open end of the collet is optionally greater than the inner diameter of the distal part that receives the pipe. A method of forming the connector is also disclosed.

A garden hose has an inner tube for conveying water at domestic water pressure from a first coupler disposed at a first end of the inner tube to a second coupler disposed at a second end of the inner tube, the inner tube being waterproof and flexible, the first coupler adapted to threadedly connect to a conventional water faucet and the second coupler adapted to threadedly connect to a conventional garden appliance. The hose has a metal sheath disposed over the inner tube and extending from the first coupler to the second coupler, the flexible metal sheath having a first shoulder near the first coupler and a second shoulder near the second coupler, the metal sheath being flexible, and a fabric sheath disposed over the metal sheath and fixed to the metal sheath by a first constricting band disposed at the first shoulder and a second constricting band disposed at the second shoulder.

Adapter for an expandable hose
11326725 · 2022-05-10 ·

An adapter for an expandable hose is an apparatus used to connect an expandable hose to other fluid management tools. The apparatus is also configured to prevent leakages in multi-channel expandable hoses. An objective of the apparatus is to provide a connection for expandable hoses. The apparatus is designed to prevent leakage between expandable hoses and the apparatus. A threaded connector enables attachment of the expandable hose to other hoses. Another unit fits inside the inner channel of an expandable hose, while a third part surrounds the inner channel of the expandable hose. An annular fastener secures the outer channel of the expandable hose to the inner channel. A cover or housing may be added to protect components from damage due to external stimuli. Altogether, the apparatus enables a user to securely attach an expandable hose to a spout, faucet, spicket, another hose, or a variety of other devices.

PITOT TUBE HEATER ASSEMBLY
20220136884 · 2022-05-05 ·

A pitot tube includes an outer tube extending from a first tube end to second tube end. The second tube end defines a tip portion of the pitot tube. A tube sleeve is located inside of the outer tube and defines a tube passage extending from the first tube end to the second tube end. A heating element is located between the outer tube and the tube sleeve. The heating element is isolated from airflow into the tube passage. A method of forming a pitot tube includes installing a heating element to an outer surface of a tube sleeve, the tube sleeve defining a tube passage of the pitot tube. The tube sleeve is secured in an outer tube such that the heating element is between the tube sleeve and the outer tube and is isolated from airflow through the tube passage.

Hose connector

A hose connector has a first connecting joint, a second connecting joint, and a connecting duct. The first connecting joint comprises an inner neck rim having an inner threaded aperture and a containment space connecting to the inner threaded aperture. The first connecting joint further comprises a threaded outer wall, and a bottom surface of the neck rim has a plurality of engaging grooves. The second connecting joint comprises a hollow base having a neck section connected to a lip, and the neck section is configured for insertion in the containment space of the first connecting joint. A top surface of the lip has a plurality of engaging protrusions pushing against the neck rim or engaging with the engaging groove. The connecting duct comprises an outer threaded section and an enlarged flange, and the connecting duct is mounted through the neck section and the lip.

Fluid coupling and method of assembly

Fluid coupling (10), comprising: a first member (20) configured for connection with a first fluid conduit (16); a second member (30) configured for connection with a second fluid conduit (18); a nut (50) disposed at least partially around the first member (20), the nut (50) configured to engage the second member (30); and a sleeve (60) configured to rotate the nut (50) and cause or facilitate engagement between the nut (50) and the second member (30).

CONVERSION ADAPTER AND FITTING WITH THE SAME

A first peripheral wall end portion of a conversion adapter is connected to a tubular body across a gasket, and has either an annular protrusion to be pressed into an annular groove on a side surface of the gasket, or an annular groove to allow an annular protrusion projecting from a side surface of the gasket to be pressed thereinto. The first peripheral wall end portion has either an internally threaded portion to allow an externally threaded portion of the tubular body to be screwed thereinto, or an externally threaded portion to allow a nut to be screwed thereonto. The nut also allows an externally threaded portion of the tubular body to be screwed thereinto. A second peripheral wall end portion of the conversion adapter has an externally threaded portion to allow another nut to be screwed thereonto, and then, to allow the sleeve to make contact with the inside.

SLEEVE AND FITTING WITH THE SAME

A sleeve, a cylindrical member for connecting a tube to a tubular body of a fitting, includes a first peripheral wall end portion facing a peripheral wall end portion of the tubular body, and a second peripheral wall end portion pressed into an open end of the tube. The first peripheral wall end portion includes either an annular protrusion or groove. The annular protrusion is pressed into an annular groove in the peripheral wall end portion of the tubular body. The annular groove allows an annular protrusion axially projecting from the peripheral wall end portion of the tubular body to be pressed thereinto. The second peripheral wall end portion includes a bulge portion to expand the diameter of the open end of the tube. An outer periphery of the first peripheral wall end portion includes a flange to axially face the peripheral wall end portion of the tubular body.

Pipe joint

A pipe joint includes a joint body formed with a through hole therein along an axial direction, and having male threads and an extending shaft portion formed on one end side thereof; and a nut member formed with an insertion hole through which a tube member is inserted, and having female threads formed therein that screw-engage with the male threads. Annular projections are formed on an outer circumferential surface of the extending shaft portion, and the tube member, which is expanded in diameter, is gripped between the annular projections and an inner circumferential surface of the nut member.

METHOD AND APPARATUS TO ASSEMBLE A HIGH PURITY LIQUID DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
20230009178 · 2023-01-12 ·

A method and apparatus for assembling a high purity liquid distribution system is described. A distal end portion of the tube is heated then pushed over a sleeve so that the distal end portion can have a shrink seal fit over the sleeve to mitigate accidental or inadvertent pull out of the tube from a fitting. Other benefits are also achieved such as minimal flow restriction of the liquid flowing through the joint and the tube.
