FLOW CONDITIONER
A flow conditioner for use in a conduit includes a ring having a plurality of stepped elements disposed on an inner surface of the ring. A method for conditioning fluid using a flow conditioner includes coupling a flow conditioner to an interior surface of a conduit, flowing fluid through the conduit, contacting a surface of the flow conditioner with the flowing fluid, positioning a flow meter downstream of the flow conditioner, and measuring the flow profile of the fluid with the flow meter. Contacting the flow conditioner reduces one or more disturbances in a flow profile of the fluid. A flow conditioner includes a ring having at least one of a stepped element formed on an inner surface of the ring or a fin assembly coupled to the ring.
Vortex diffuser for rotating/stationary interfaces
In hydraulic systems having rotating-stationary component interfaces, a bore pressure regulating mechanism is provided to interact with the hydraulic fluid in a control volume to maintain a hydraulic fluid pressure in a longitudinal shaft bore at or approximately equal to a supply pressure when a gear shaft rotates within the control volume. In one aspect, the bore pressure regulating mechanism minimizes vortex flow of the hydraulic fluid induced by the rotation of the gear shaft. In another aspect, the bore pressure regulating mechanism provides a direct feed of pressurized hydraulic fluid proximate an opening of the longitudinal shaft bore through an end surface of the gear shaft, and thereby minimizes the opportunity for the hydraulic fluid to be forced into vortex flow by the gear shaft in the area of the longitudinal shaft bore.
Apparatus and method for retaining a noise attenuation assembly for use with a pressure regulator
A fluid regulating device includes a valve having an inlet and an outlet and an actuator coupled to the valve and having a control assembly. The control assembly includes a control element and a diaphragm operably connected to the control element, the control element disposed within the valve and adapted to be displaced relative to a valve seat. A noise attenuation assembly is coupled to the outlet of the valve and includes a cylindrical body and at least one plate disposed in the cylindrical body, the at least one plate having an outer edge. An apparatus for retaining the noise attenuation assembly includes a plurality of rods coupled to the at least one plate. The plurality of rods includes at least one rod having a first end disposed through the outer edge of the at least one plate to support the noise attenuation assembly.
HELIX AMPLIFIER FITTINGS
A helix amplifier pipe fitting may include an elbow or straight pipe fitting including an expanded helix portion, a plurality of helix vanes at an angle of incidence to the incoming fluid flow to impart rotational velocity on the fluid. A helix amplifier may include a helix discharge amplifier having a tapered canister, a tapered helix portion including a plurality of helix vanes, and a tapered mixing chamber.
Damper for air lines of an internal combustion engine having a turbocharger and method for producing said damper
A method for producing a damper for an air line of an internal combustion engine includes the following steps: providing a temperature-controlled inner part having passages; producing a tubular preform of an outer jacket from a thermoplastic melt; and attaching the temperature-controlled inner part to a blowing mandrel of a blow mold, which is open. The blowing mandrel has outlet openings and the passages are positioned over the outlet openings. The method further includes bringing the temperature-controlled preform over the inner part and closing the blow mold such that the preform is blown against the walls of the blow mold, whereby an outer jacket is obtained. Simultaneously, local connections between the inner part and the outer jacket are obtained by pressing the preform and the inner part against each other in some regions. Finally, the blow mold is opened and the damper is removed.
MULTI-FUNCTION ORIFICE SUBASSEMBLY FOR FLOW LIMITERS
A flow limiter component including a monocoque body having first, second, and third sections along a longitudinal axis. The first section includes a first end defining a first edge of the monocoque body and a bordering second end, and a first inner diameter defining a first chamber inside the first section. The second section includes a solid wall, with an orifice disposed therein, in fluid communication with the first chamber, the orifice defined by a second inner diameter. The third section includes a third end bordering the second section and a fourth end defining a second edge of the body, and a third inner diameter, the third inner diameter defining a second chamber in the third section. The second chamber is in fluid communication with the orifice. The first inner diameter is greater than the third inner diameter, and the third inner diameter is greater than the second inner diameter.
Multi-hole orifice plate for flow control, and flow controller using the same
A multi-hole orifice plate for flow control includes an orifice plate for controlling the flow rate of a fluid, wherein the opening area of one orifice necessary for the passage of a predetermined flow rate of fluid is divided to provide a plurality of orifices having a total opening area equal to said opening area.
MICROFLOW RESTRICTOR ASSEMBLY AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A medical fluid microflow assembly having an assembly fluid inlet and an assembly fluid outlet, and a mandrel having a curved exterior surface, the mandrel being positioned within an cavity of a housing so that the exterior surface of the mandrel is substantially parallel to an interior surface of the cavity, and at least one protrusion positioned helically around and extending from the interior surface of the cavity, each protrusion abutting the exterior surface of the mandrel to form a sealed fluid channel which has a channel inlet positioned proximate to the assembly fluid inlet and a channel outlet positioned proximate to the assembly fluid outlet, the exterior surface of the mandrel and the interior surface of the cavity having a minimal or neutral triboelectric value with respect to a fluid.
