HOT SWAPPABLE FRACTURING PUMP SYSTEM
20230288010 · 2023-09-14 ·

A system that permits fracturing pumps such as, for example, at least first and second fracturing pumps, each carried on a truck, to be connected to, and disconnected from, respective connection points on a fracturing manifold while fracturing fluid in the fracturing manifold is at pressure, in certain instances at or near fracturing pressure, and/or while other(s) of the fracturing pumps are being operated to pump fracturing fluid.

CONTINUOUS PUMPING OPERATIONS USING DECOUPLED PUMP MAINTENANCE

The disclosure presents systems and methods for hot swapping pumps at a wellsite while minimizing the impact to the pumping operations. As one pump is swapped out, such as for maintenance, the remaining pumps in the set of pumps at the wellsite can continue pumping operations. In some aspects, the swapping of pumps can be performed by a user using a protection barrier to isolate the pump location where the pumps will be swapped. In some aspects, one or more of the steps to swap pumps can be performed through automation thereby minimizing danger to a user. In some aspects, the pump being located at the pump system can be primed and pressure tested prior to be located to improve the time to enable the pump for pumping operations.

Method and apparatus to export fluid without discharge

A method and system for pipeline purging with reduced environmental impact. A vacuum and/or compressor system purges air or other gases from at least a section of the pipeline to create a vacuum in the pipeline. The vacuum can then be replaced with a fuel gas, avoiding a mixing of fuel and oxidant in the pipeline. The vacuum and/or compressor system can include a fuel gas monitoring leak-detection system to monitor for fuel presence in the purging air.

FIREBREAK DEVICE

A firebreak device configured to arrest a flow of medical gas capable of combustion or of supporting combustion, said device comprising: a housing having a body portion, an inlet and an outlet, said inlet and outlet being linked by a conduit; a valve assembly located within said body portion, said valve assembly being movable between an open position, in which gas can flow between said inlet and outlet along said conduit, and a closed position in which gas flow between said inlet and said outlet is arrested; a biasing assembly (340) arranged within said body portion to move said valve assembly into said closed position; and a heat activatable stop (350) located between said biasing assembly and said outlet to hold said valve assembly in said open position against said biasing assembly, and adapted to release said valve assembly to allow said biasing assembly to move said valve assembly to said closed position at an activation temperature, to close flow of gas through the device if said heat activatable stop is activated, wherein: said heat activatable stop is arranged to prevent obstruction of said flow of gas adjacent an inner surface of said device.

Plugging undesired openings in fluid conduits

A method of plugging at least one undesired opening in a fluid conduit can include introducing one or more plugging devices into the conduit, conveying the plugging devices by flow to the opening, and blocking the flow through the opening with the plugging devices. A system for plugging at least one undesired opening in a fluid conduit can include a deployment apparatus configured to introduce one or more plugging devices into the conduit, a sensor that measures a physical parameter indicative of leakage from the conduit, and a controller that activates an actuator of the deployment apparatus in response to receipt from the sensor of an indication of leakage from the conduit.

A petroleum pipeline safety system for preventing contamination of an environmentally sensitive area close to a pipeline is provided. The system includes a first portion of the pipeline including an upstream portion of the pipeline supplying a flow of fluid material and a flow restriction downstream of the first portion of the pipeline. The system further includes a second portion of the pipeline downstream of the flow restriction, receiving the flow of fluid material from the first portion and conveying the flow of fluid material through the environmentally sensitive area to a downstream portion of the pipeline. The flow restriction is configured to create a lower pipeline internal pressure within the second portion as compared to a pipeline internal pressure within the first portion. The system further includes a third portion of the pipeline downstream of the environmentally sensitive area and including the downstream portion of the pipeline.

MECHANICALLY ACTUATED VALVE ASSEMBLIES

The disclosed technology includes a valve assembly having a valve, an actuating system, and a trigger. The trigger can be in mechanical communication with the actuating system and the actuating system can be in mechanical communication with the valve. The trigger can be positioned such that the trigger can interact with liquid resulting from a leak in a plumbing system, and upon interaction with liquid, the trigger can release the actuating system such that the actuating system can cause the valve to transition from an open position to a closed position. In the closed position, the valve can restrict the passage of liquid through the plumbing system such that the leak can be mitigated or stopped.
