APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PIPE REPAIR
The methods and devices described herein are for repairing a break in a pipe and also provide means for adding additional pipes to an existing pipe. According to a first embodiment, a pair of end connectors are installed on the broken ends of a pipe and then a sleeve is slid over the gap between the two broken ends. According to a second embodiment, two half cylinder connector pieces are placed around a broken pipe and then a cylindrical sleeve is placed over the top. According to a third embodiment, two half cylinder connector pieces are glued to each other and the broken pipe, one of the half cylinders having a branch for installing an additional pipe to the pipe system.
PIPE INSTALLATION SYSTEM
A pipe installation system includes a plug assembly, an installation head, a driver assembly, and a grout supply line. The installation head has a leading portion extending along a central axis, a mating portion which mates with a new pipe, a grout ejection port positioned within the leading portion, and a grout conduit connected to the grout ejection port. The leading portion has a tapered nose that extends from a first end to a maximum cross-section portion. The grout ejection port is positioned no further rearward than the maximum cross-section portion of the leading portion. The cross-section of the first end is smaller than a cross-section of the plug assembly. The cross-section of the maximum cross-section portion is at least as big as the cross-section of the plug assembly.
DEVICE FOR RESTORATION OF PRESSURE RETAINING ITEMS SUBJECT TO MATERIAL DEGRADATION
A device for restoration by encapsulation of a breached, leaking, or degraded pressure retention item. The apparatus may include multiple features for reducing loads on the pressure retention item, including a filler or liner plate, filler material, and an angled attachment point between the apparatus and the pressure retention item. The apparatus may include inspection ports for viewing, pressure, or leak detection. The apparatus may include a guide track for improved welding to fasten the apparatus to the pressure retaining item. The apparatus may include an expansion joint or bellows, allowing lateral and/or axial movement of the device and/or the pressure retaining item.
Method And Apparatus For Replacing Culverts
A system for installing a drainage structure in the subsurface. The system has a casing, a drive device, and at least one fin. The casing has opposed first and second ends and defines a hollow region. The drive device is supported at the first end of the casing and configured to drive movement of the casing in a first direction. The at least one fin projects from the casing into the hollow region and is configured to buckle a corrugated metal culvert positioned at least partially within the casing when the casing is driven in the first direction. The drive device may be a pneumatic hammer or puller attached to a rod pulling machine.
Method and device to remove pipe
A pipe removal method includes navigating a flexible element through a first pipe. At least a portion of the flexible element is coupled with the first pipe. The flexible element and the first pipe are pulled as a composite assembly, and the flexible element reinforces the tensile strength of the first pipe. In one example, the first pipe is at least pulled in compression between the point of coupling between the flexible element and the first pipe and a proximal end of the flexile element. In another example, the method includes wrapping the composite assembly around a spool. The composite assembly is thereby removed from the ground surrounding the first pipe.
Method of opening fluid control valve and fluid control valve used for the same
A method of opening a fluid control valve having a housing externally fitted onto a fluid pipe in a hermetic state and a valve body configured for contacting an inner peripheral surface of a hole of the fluid pipe provided in the housing and an inner peripheral surface of the fluid pipe to hermetically block or open a flow of fluid in the fluid pipe. The method includes a pressure adjustment step of decreasing a pressure difference between the fluid in the fluid pipe on a first side of the valve body and the fluid in the fluid pipe on a second side of the valve body in a blocking state of the valve body. The first side and the second side of the valve body are arranged so as to sandwich the valve body in an axial direction of the fluid pipe, and a valve opening step of opening the valve body.
PIPE CONNECTION DEVICE FOR REPAIRS
Disclosed is a pipe connection device for repairs that connects first and second pipes by extending a length of inner and outer connection pipes, wherein the first and second pipes are connected using the inner and outer connection pipes in a state in which the inner and outer connection pipes are fixed while extended to be proportional to a length between the first and second pipes by a detachment preventing protrusion being caught in and fixed to a detachment preventing groove while an inner catching step is caught on an outer catching step to limit sliding.
Pipe loosening device and method
A pipe loosening device and methods are shown. In one example, the pipe loosening device enables a method wherein a pipe to be replaced is deformed but not burst, and a portion of a sidewall of the pipe is forced outward into the surrounding soil to compact a local region of the surrounding soil and loosen the existing pipe. The pipe may then pulled from the ground along an axis of the pipe.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING OF MULTILAYERED STRUCTURES
Systems, methods, and devices relating to an additively manufactured multilayered structure. The additively manufactured multilayered structure may be provided by unspooling a material roll of laminate material using a roller system. A welding device may be used to apply welds between layers of the laminate material to distribute a loading between the layers during use.
GATE INSERT VALVE AND METHOD OF INSERTION INTO PRESSURIZED PIPELINES
A method of cutting and removing a section of pipe, such as prestressed concrete cylinder pipe, and installing a replacement gate valve while the pipeline is fully pressurized by use of a replacement valve body. The replacement valve body includes two cylinders that match the openings of the cut pipe, and inside each of the two cylinders is a cut-covering assembly which includes a cylindrical elastomeric seal and a spring tube. The replacement valve body further includes a linear moving gate in a central portion of the valve, and when the cylinder ends of the replacement valve body are positioned adjacent the bores of cut pipe ends, the gate can be moved to push the elastomeric seals of each of the cut-covering assemblies into the bores of the cut pipe ends, thereby covering gaps created when the pipe was cut and placing the pipe ends in fluid-tight engagement with the replacement valve body.
