Aseptic coupling devices
Formation of a sterile connection includes inserting a first aseptic coupling device into a second aseptic coupling device while a locking ring of the first aseptic device is in an indexed initial position, rotating the locking ring to a secured position in which a compressive force is created and in which a first membrane from the first aseptic coupling device and a second membrane from the second aseptic coupling device can removed thereby resulting in a first a first sealing member of the first aseptic coupling device sealing with a second sealing member of the second aseptic coupling device to form a sterile fluid passageway.
Fluid couplings
This document describes fluid coupling devices for fluid systems and methods of using the fluid coupling devices. Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for the purpose of providing a sterile connection. Such a sterile connection can be useful for the delivery and/or processing of therapeutic agents, or ingredients thereof, and other purposes.
COUPLING SYSTEM FOR A CLOSED FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEM
A coupling system for a closed fluid transfer system includes a coupling member that features a coupling member housing. The coupling member housing includes a housing portion that at least partially surrounds a sealing member receptacle in an axial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis and which includes a coupling member housing threaded portion on the inner surface facing the sealing member. The coupling system also includes a mating coupling member for coupling with the coupling member. The mating coupling member includes a mating coupling member housing that has a mating coupling member guiding structure. The coupling member housing threaded portion of the coupling member is configured such that the mating coupling member guiding structure and the sealing member receptacle structure are jointly and movably guided, in particular in a predetermined positional relation to each other, by the coupling member housing threaded portion.
COUPLING ELEMENT FOR A CLOSED FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEM, COUNTER COUPLING ELEMENT FOR A COUPLING ELEMENT OF THIS TYPE, AND COUPLING SYSTEM
A coupling member for a closed fluid transfer system includes a housing having a fluid connection and a coupling side. The housing includes a longitudinal axis extending from the fluid connection toward the coupling side and a spike having a fluid opening. The fluid opening is arranged in an end portion of the spike facing the coupling side. A sealing member receptacle is arranged in the housing on the coupling side, and a sealing member is arranged in the sealing member receptacle. The housing includes a housing portion that at least partially surrounds the sealing member receptacle and a threaded portion. The coupling housing with the sealing member is guided by a guiding structure and movable in the direction of the longitudinal axis via the threaded portion between a position with maximum distance to the fluid connection and a position with minimum distance to the fluid connection.
Single-use disconnect fluid couplings
Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a single-use, disconnection functionality that can substantially limit fluid spillage when being disconnected. In some embodiments, the coupling portions cannot be functionally reconnected to each other after being disconnected from each other.
Sterile connector
The invention is directed to an connector comprising a first part and a second part, each provided with a contact surface and at least one non-contact surface facing away from the contact surface, at least one opening in the contact surface having an fluid connection to at least one opening of the non-contact surface, a releasable covering of the opening in the contact surface, and complementary means for mechanically coupling the parts at the contact surfaces to form the connector. The complementary means for mechanically coupling the parts are configured to mechanically interlock with each other.
Fluid couplings
Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a sterile connection for drug delivery. In some embodiments, the fluid coupling devices can be implemented as multi-use, sterile fluid coupling devices that are configured to reduce the likelihood of fluid spillage when being disconnected.
FLUID COUPLINGS
This document describes fluid handling couplings. For example, this document describes fluid handling couplings that include manually openable valves and that are configured for aseptic fluid handling usage. In some embodiments, the valves are manually openable by rotation of a collar of the fluid handling couplings.
FLUID COUPLINGS
This document describes fluid handling couplings. For example, this document describes fluid handling couplings that are genderless, that include manually openable valves, and that are configured for single-use aseptic fluid handling usage.
CONNECTION ELEMENT AND CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR A BLOOD TREATMENT DEVICE
The invention relates to a connection element (1) for a blood treatment device, in particular for a dialysis machine. The connection element (1) has here an inlet line (2), for letting in a fluid into the connection element (1), an outlet line (3), for letting a fluid out of the connection element (1), at least a first discharge line (21), for discharging a fluid from the connection element (1), wherein the first discharge line (21) is formed in a subsection (22) around the inlet line (2), and wherein the inlet line (2) and the first discharge line (21) are open to a first end section (23) of the connection element (1), and the first end section (23) is fluidically connected with the subsection (22).
