The positioning arm is pivotally movable between a retracted configuration completely inside the wall housing and a deployed configuration outside and extending away from the wall housing. The positioning arm includes gas springs and the mounting plate includes an adjustable bracket capable of mounting televisions having large VESA patterns.

A monitor arm with decorative lighting (or luminous display arm) includes a light-emitting element and a wire that is connected to the light-emitting element. A conductive slip ring is disposed inside a connecting joint of the arm to facilitate electrical connection of the wire.
