Power tool safety system
A safety system for use with a power tool that is usable by a user, the power tool including a base and a moving component that is movable relative to the base, includes a sensor assembly and a controller. The sensor assembly monitors a predetermined danger zone that is adjacent to the moving component of the power tool. The sensor assembly is configured to generate data relating to the predetermined danger zone. The controller receives the data from the sensor assembly and analyzes the data from the sensor assembly to determine if at least a portion of a hand of the user is present within the predetermined danger zone. The safety system can further include a wearable component including infrared only reflective material that is coupled to the hand of the user. The controller analyzes the data from the sensor assembly to determine if the wearable component is present within the predetermined danger zone.
COMPUTER ENHANCED SAFETY SYSTEM
A device for assisting with the safe use of a machine. The device has a user interface for displaying an augmented reality scene, a camera for capturing, in real time, video of an area of interest for inclusion in an augmented reality scene, a positioning module for determining the position of the device relative to the machine, a shape recognition module for recognizing an actual location near the machine in the video, a database of virtual safe areas around the machine, which are displayable in the augmented reality scene and a matching module for matching the virtual safe areas to the corresponding actual component, to identify to a user, in the augmented reality scene, areas around the machine which are safe and corresponding areas which are unsafe. A library of signs, arrows and the like, which are displayable and represent hazards, prohibitions and mandatory actions to the user, are available.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING AN ACCESS POINT LEADING INTO A SAFETY ZONE OF A ROLL WINDER OR UNWINDER, AND PRINTING PRESS
In some examples, an access point that leads into a safety zone of a roll unwinder or winder is monitored by a monitoring sensor system. The monitoring sensor system includes two scanners having respective measuring beams that pass over an angular region situated in the same plane extending in an opening. The access point is monitored in a pattern of multiple protection fields having various sizes and/or shapes. Multiple ones of the protection fields are encompassed by a next-larger and/or next-wider protection field, entirely or at least viewed in the width and toward the top. The scan images of the two scanners are checked for a breach of the relevant protection fields in differing, adjoining, or overlapping partial regions of the plane. Information about the permissibility of a determined protection field breach is derived by evaluation of breach patterns of breached protection fields obtained in the two partial regions.
Entry Detection System
In an entry detection system, detection of an object that is allowed to enter the region is appropriately disabled. An entry detection system for detecting an object entering a region includes: an entry detection sensor configured to detect whether or not a part of the object is present within an entry detection plane; a muting sensor section including a first unit and a second unit; and a control unit. The control unit disables the entry detection sensor in response to at least one of a first detection state and a second detection state being established, the first detection state is a state in which the first unit provided on a passing direction-first side of the entry detection plane detects the object, and the second detection state is a state in which the second unit provided on a passing direction-second side of the entry detection plane detects the object.

Servomotor control device and production system equipped with the control device
A servomotor control device includes a servomotor control circuit for controlling an inverter such that an alternating current is supplied to a servomotor when receiving a safety signal, and for controlling the inverter such that the alternating current is not supplied to the servomotor when not receiving the safety signal, and a servomotor monitoring circuit for stopping the servomotor by stopping transmission of the safety signal to the servomotor control circuit when determining to stop the servomotor, and for stopping the servomotor by disconnecting supply of a direct current to the inverter with a power source disconnect circuit and stopping the transmission of the safety signal to the servomotor control circuit when determining that at least one of the power source disconnect circuit, the safety signal, and the servomotor control circuit is not normal.

Method and Apparatus for Identifying When an Individual is in Proximity to an Object
An apparatus for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object having a length has a sensor portion having a wire loop through which electric current runs and creates an electromagnetic field that emanates about the wire loop. The wire loop extending along at least a third of the length of the object. The apparatus has a personal alarm device that is worn by the individual which detects the presence of the magnetic field emanating from the wire loop when the personal alarm device is in the magnetic field and produces a signal indicating the personal alarm device is within the magnetic field. Alternatively, the sensor portion extends from a contiguous boundary up to 500 meters, where the boundary has a geometry that is linear or meandering. A head piece for an individual's head. A method for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object. A field extension module. A proximity device.
RESISTANCE WELDING PINCH PROTECTION SYSTEM
A resistance welding pinch protection system for use with a resistance welder, comprising a sensor array adapted to be secured around the base of a positive electrode of the resistance welder, the sensor array including a plurality of proximity sensors positioned along a perimeter of the sensor array, the plurality of proximity sensors defining an electrode operation field around the positive electrode, an input/output interface to be operatively connected to the resistance welder, and at least one processor in communication with the plurality of proximity sensors and the input/output interface, wherein in use, during the lowering of the positive electrode, the at least one processor interrupts the control signal to the resistance welding controller in order to stop the welding sequence, raising the positive electrode in response to the detection of an obstacle within the electrode operation field.
Heavy equipment proximity alert system
