METHOD FOR SUPPLYING LIQUID CRYOGEN TO MULTIPLE CRYOGEN STORAGE VESSELS INSTALLED AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS
A cryogen storage vessel at an installation is filled with liquid cryogen from a liquid cryogen storage tank that has a pressure lower than that of the vessel. After headspaces of the vessel and tank are placed in fluid communication with another via a gas transfer vessel and are pressure-balanced, a pump in a liquid transfer line connected between the tank and the vessel is operated to transfer amounts of liquid cryogen from the tank to the vessel via the liquid transfer line and pump as amounts of gaseous cryogen are transferred, through displacement by the pumped cryogenic liquid, from the vessel to the tank. Following filling, the tank is disconnected and then driven to another location to repeat the filling process with a second vessel that is at a different location.
METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING CRYOGENIC FLUID USING A DEVICE FOR TRANSFERRING CRYOGENIC FLUID
A cryogen storage vessel at an installation is filled with liquid cryogen from a liquid cryogen storage tank that has a pressure lower than that of the vessel. METHOD OF OPERATING A COLD CRYOGENIC LIQUID SUPPLY CHAIN
Cryosphere
Methods, apparatus, and device, for a cryogenic storage system that stores and/or transports a liquid or gas at a temperature below ambient temperature. The cryogenic storage system has an enclosure and a cavity. The cryogenic storage system has a dewar that is positioned within the cavity of the enclosure. The dewar has a payload area that is configured to hold a liquid below ambient temperature. The dewar is configured to hold a liquid below ambient temperature and passively stabilize in an upright position. The dewar is formed with an inner wall and an outer wall and has an opening that allows access to the payload area.
Low-temperature tank and method for manufacturing same
A low-temperature tank includes a container main body. The container main body includes a metal liner forming a storage space and a wall member formed of carbon fiber reinforced plastic wound on an outer peripheral surface of the metal liner. The metal liner includes a bent portion that extends in two directions intersecting each other on a surface thereof and that is bent to project toward the storage space.
MOBILE LIQUEFACTION PLANT FOR LIQUEFYING HELIUM, ASSOCIATED SYSTEM, AND ASSOCIATED USE OF THE SYSTEM
A mobile liquefaction plant (7) for liquefying helium, includes a liquefaction device (8) that liquefies helium, an intermediate storage tank (9) for liquefied helium, a cleaning device (29) which removes non-helium components from the helium and is connected upstream of the liquefaction device, and an additional collecting device (25) that collects gaseous helium which evaporates when an application cryostat (4) is filled with liquid helium and that includes a container (26) with a flexible wall and which stores the collected gaseous helium approximately at atmospheric pressure. The container (26) has an available container volume of at least 5 m.sup.3. Systems provided with such a mobile liquefaction plant exhibit an improved recovery of helium from application cryostats in a simple and cost-effective manner.
DEWAR TIPPER
Method, system, apparatus, and/or device for tipping or pouring a dewar into another receptacle. The dewar tipping system includes a first dewar. The first dewar is configured to store a liquid or gas. The dewar tipping system includes a dewar tipper with a cradle. The cradle is configured to capture the first dewar. The dewar tipper includes a counter balance assembly that is configured to tip or angle the cradle to pour a liquid or gas out of the first dewar. The dewar tipper includes a handle. The handle is configured to activate the counter balance assembly when in an engaged position. The dewar tipping system includes one of a second dewar or a catch basin. The one of the second dewar or the catch basin receives the liquid or gas when the first dewar is angled or inverted.
Cryostat for superconducting magnet system
A cryostat for a superconducting magnet system is provided. The cryostat may include an outer vessel and an inner vessel suspended within the outer vessel. A space may be defined by the outer vessel and the inner vessel. The cryostat may include multiple first support elements and one or more second support elements. The strength of the first supporting element may be larger than that of the second support elements. The inner vessel and the outer vessel may be connected by two opposite ends of a first support element and two opposite ends of a second support element, respectively. The number of the first support elements in the lower part of the space is different from the number of the first support elements in the upper part of the space.
Storage Tank Device Configured to Prevent Ice Formation
A cryogenic storage device includes a storage tank having an inner tank, an intermediate tank and an outer tank spaced apart from each other so as to define a fluid reservoir for holding a cryogenic liquid and a thermal insulative space bounding the fluid reservoir. A top cover closes the open top. An inlet supplies the cryogenic liquid to the fluid reservoir. A fluid sensor is configured to detect a pressure within the cryogenic storage device and is removably disposed within the fluid reservoir so as to allow an ice formation to be thawed without having to thaw the entire cryogenic storage device.
Thermal Cascade for Cryogenic Storage and Transport of Volatile Gases
A system is described wherein a cryogenic liquid transport fluid is used as in thermal communication with a volatile gas as a second cryogenic liquid. The volatile gas in the liquid state enables transport of additional volatile substances that cannot be transported in the liquid state employing only the cryogenic liquid. The thermal communication between cryogenic liquids is a thermal cascade.
