Method for producing a fibre-reinforced pressure vessel with pole cap reinforcement
The invention refers to a method of manufacturing a pressure tank, comprising an inner container and an outer layer made of a fiber material which is wound around the inner container. In performing the method, a retention device with several retention elements protruding therefrom is attached to an inner container so as to wind a local pole cap reinforcement in a dome-shaped pole cap portion of the inner container. Then the retention device is removed and an outer layer is produced by winding of fiber material, the outer layer surrounding the central portion and the pole cap portions of the inner container.
NON-CIRCULAR PRESSURE VESSEL
A reservoir assembly includes one or more pressure vessels each having a non-circular cross-sectional shape including a rounded rectangle having four generally flat sides with rounded corners. The pressure vessels may be formed of extruded metal, such as aluminum, and have a generally constant cross-section. The pressure vessels include stiffening ribs and varying wall thicknesses to improve strength and to minimize stresses when pressurized, such as during operation when filled with compressed gas. The stiffening ribs meet in the center of each of the pressure vessels and divide the interior volumes into four equal sections. A cap of stamped aluminum is fitted and fully welded to enclose each end of the pressure vessels. One or both of the caps on each of the pressure vessels has a pressure fitting. Two or more pressure vessels extend parallel to one another and are attached together to form the reservoir assembly.
HIGH-PRESSURE TANK AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HIGH-PRESSURE TANK
Provided is a manufacturing method for manufacturing a high-pressure tank by infiltrating resin into a fiber layer of a preform in which the fiber layer is formed on an outer surface a liner. The manufacturing method includes: a first supply step of supplying resin to the fiber layer of the preform; and a second supply step of, after the first supply step, supplying, to the fiber layer, resin to which spherical particles are added.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPRESSED-GAS CONTAINER
The invention relates to a method for producing a compressed-gas container, particularly a compressed-gas container for transporting and for storing liquid gases or natural gas.
Method and tool for molding a composite pressure vessel liner to a boss
A method for molding a composite pressure vessel liner to secure a boss to the liner is described. The method comprises providing a moldable liner having an end section with a neck and a port. A boss is positioned around the neck of the liner and the liner is heated and pressure is applied to mold the liner to form to the shape of the boss. The angle of the molded liner secures the boss in place around the liner and it is able to withstand high pressures. A tool for molding the liner and a method for using the tool is also described. The tool comprises a tool body and a pipe having external threads. The tool body abuts the liner and the boss. Winding the pipe exerts pressure on the liner, which when heated, forces the liner to mold to the shape of the boss.
Thermoplastic Composite In-Situ Melt Processing Method for Composite Overwrapped Tools
An in-situ melt processing method for forming a fiber thermoplastic resin composite overwrapped workpiece, such as a composite overwrapped pressure vessel. Carbon fiber, or other types of fiber, are combined with a thermoplastic resin system. The selected fiber tow and the resin are prepared for impregnation of the tow by the resin. The resin is melted; and, carbon fiber is impregnated with the melted resin at the filament winding machine delivery head. The molten state of the composite is maintained and is applied, in the molten state, to the heated surface of a workpiece. The portion of the surface being wrapped is heated to the melting point of the thermoplastic resin so that the molten composite more efficiently adheres to the heated surface of the workpiece and so that the uppermost layer of fiber resin composite is molten when overwrapped resulting in better adherence of successive layers to one another.
Cryogenic fluid storage tank
A Liquid Natural Storage (LNG) tank comprising an outer mechanical support structure (20) providing a closed space housing a membrane wall of the cryogenic tank is disclosed. Spacer elements (21) is supporting a membrane wall constituted by a mixture of steel plates, steel rods, wooden beams and plywood plates.
Bulk metallic glass pressure vessels
A pressure vessel containing a main body with at least one opening. The pressure vessel is made from a BMG material. The pressure vessel may contain an additional part such as a neck, a liner, a rib, a lattice, a fin, and a diaphragm. The pressure vessel may be free of a welded joint in entirety. The pressure vessel may contain multiple parts in the main body, each of which is free of a welded joint. The pressure vessel may be made through thermoplastic forming.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF STORING AND RECOVERING ENERGY BY MEANS OF COMPRESSED GAS, COMPRISING A MIXED LAYER OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE
The invention is a reservoir for the storage of a pressurized fluid such as compressed air. In particular, the reservoir comprises at least one tube formed of an arrangement of concentric layers (C1, C2, C3, C4). This arrangement comprises, working from the inside toward the outside of the tube, an internal layer (C1) formed of concrete, a layer (C2) formed of steel of thickness E, at least one layer (C3) formed by a winding of steel wires (C3″) on a sublayer (C3′) of concrete, and an external layer (C4) which protects the wires against at least one of physical and chemical damage, and in which the wires are subjected to circumferential (hoop) tensile prestress with at least one of the thickness E and the prestress being rated to withstand the pressure of pressurized fluid.
Application notably to the storage and recovery of energy using compressed air.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PRESSURE ACCUMULATOR
The invention relates to a method for producing a pressure accumulator (1), in particular for accumulating hydrogen in motor vehicles, wherein first of all an inner liner (3) of the pressure reservoir (1) is produced, preferably by means of a plastic blow molding process, wherein subsequently the inner liner (3) is provided, preferably braided, on the outside with a multi-ply reinforcing layer (9) including reinforcement fibers (8), and wherein the reinforcing layer (9) is then impregnated with a resin, preferably an epoxy resin, which, after curing, fixes the position of the reinforcement fibers (8) in the reinforcing layer (9). According to the invention the impregnation takes place from the contact region (K) of the outer surface of the inner liner (3) with the reinforcing layer (9) to the outer region of the reinforcing layer (9).
