Methods of preventing failure of corrugated tube in type IV pressure vessels

A pressure vessel and a method of manufacturing the pressure vessel is provided that reduces leaks in type IV pressure vessels having a liner with a corrugated section. The method includes providing a liner having a tubular portion having a corrugated section with circumferential corrugations providing alternating ridges and grooves arranged from one end to an opposing end of the corrugated section, applying a barrier to an outer surface of the corrugated section from one end to an opposing end of the corrugated section such that air voids are formed in annular cavities between the liner and the barrier; and applying resin to an outer surface of the barrier. The barrier prevents intrusion of the resin between the barrier and the liner in the corrugated section.

GAS STORAGE APPARATUS AND METHOD

Apparatus comprising a source of a first fluid (204), a fluid displacement device (210) for moving the first fluid from the source to a sealed storage chamber (214), means for introducing a second fluid (207), different from the first fluid into the first fluid prior to reaching the storage chamber, the arrangement being such that the sealed storage chamber receives a mixture of the first and second fluids under a pressure greater than the pressure at the point at which the second fluid is introduced into the first fluid and includes a first fluid outlet (220) for directing the first fluid separated from the second fluid in the storage chamber externally of the storage chamber.

VALVE FOR CLOSING A GAS CONTAINER
20240151365 · 2024-05-09 · ·

A valve for closing a gas container includes a valve body with a continuous longitudinal bore along a longitudinal axis and a displaceably-guided valve tappet mounted therein. The valve body extends longitudinally parallel to the axis from a connection region with a connection-side end face to a fastening region with a gas-container-side end face having a smaller diameter than the connection region. The connection region has a stop face that stops a gas container base-body head when the fastening region has been inserted into an opening in the head. The valve body laterally has a double groove in the fastening region that includes two grooves that follow one another longitudinally and that a sealing lug facing away from the longitudinal axis separates to allow the head to be pressed gas-tightly with the fastening region in the double groove region when the fastening region is introduced into the head.

Modular gas extraction system for pressurized gas bottles

Pressurized gas bottles with integrated valves, in which a plurality of functional supports are integrated in an extraction unit, are equipped with complex fall protection means. Moreover, in such a valve, a new approval procedure is carried out for the entire valve in the event of multiple modifications, for example when supplementing it with an additional function. In order to reduce the effort associated with this, an extraction fitting for a pressurized gas bottle is provided with a modular design, wherein a base module comprising the shut-off member and a fall protection device securing the shut-off member complies with legal requirements regarding fall protection and the shut-off device of the pressurized gas bottle. All further functionalities of the extraction fitting are integrated in at least one additional module, which is connected to the base module in a fixed but removable manner and without impairing the fall safety.

PRESSURE CONTROL DEVICE

A pressure control device including a valve with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, wherein the fluid inlet is in selective fluid communication with the fluid outlet. A heat collector is adapted to cover portion of an envelope of a pressure vessel and operative to receive heat from a heat source. A sensing element is in thermal communication with the heat collector and operative to receive the heat from the heat source. Operative to receiving heat from the sensing element receives the heat, the sensing element actuates the valve to establish the selective fluid communication between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet.
