SAFETY CAP FOR A PRESSURISED FLUID STORAGE VESSEL
A safety cap for a pressurised gas storage vessel is disclosed comprising a valve that is movable between: (i) a first position in which an entrance port and anti-recoil apertures are in fluid communication such that gas is able to flow out of the safety cap through the anti-recoil apertures; and (ii) a second position in which the gas is unable to exit the safety cap through the anti-recoil apertures and in which the entrance port is in fluid communication with an exit port such that gas is able to flow from the entrance port, through the exit port and out of the safety cap.
Systems and methods for recharging liquid gas fire extinguishers
Systems and methods for recharging a fire extinguisher are disclosed. The systems include a rigid frame to which a tank is affixed, with the tank being configured to hold pressurized inert gas. The systems include an inlet fill hose that includes a first ball valve and a second ball valve, with a proximal end of the inlet fill hose being fluidly connected to the tank and a distal end of the inlet fill hose being configured to be fluidly connected to a fire extinguisher. The systems further include an inert gas inlet port that is fluidly connected to the tank and includes a third ball valve, and an inert gas outlet port that is fluidly connected to the tank and includes a fourth ball valve. The systems also include a pressure gauge that is operably connected to the tank.
Methods and system for filling a suppressant container
Systems and methods for filling and pressurizing a container with liquid suppressant and nitrogen gas. A pressurized receiving container of nitrogen gas is initially provided at a transformative pressure and liquid suppressant is subsequently added to the pressurized receiving container. The transformative gas pressure provides a sufficient amount of nitrogen to saturate the added liquid suppressant and provide an operative head space pressure within the receiving container without the need for mechanized mixing of the nitrogen and liquid suppressant solution.
GAS CYLINDER
A gas cylinder (1) comprising a cylinder body (2), a supporting part (11) with one or more resting portions (12) protruding towards a lower side (7) of the cylinder (1), a protection ring (13) manufactured separately and then mounted to the supporting part (11) and having an annular slot (14) which accommodates said one or more resting portions (12) and a resting surface (15) facing the lower side (7) and free from metal edges.
Fluid flow initiated and controlled automatic sequencing cascade system for the recharging of fluid cylinders
A system and method for recharging at least one fluid cylinder using a first fluid cylinder. The system uses a flow indicating switch which can comprise an internal magnetic source to detect the flow of fluid. The flow indicating switch is in communication with an electronic sequencing module. The electronic sequencing module controls the order and timing of discharge from the first fluid cylinder into the at least one fluid cylinder.
BRACKET INTERLOCK SYSTEMS
A method of operating safety mechanism includes extending a safety pin to block a poppet from opening a flow path from a pressure vessel in the event of the pressure vessel being unmounted from a bracket or in the event of the bracket being unmounted from a support structure. The method includes retracting the safety pin to allow free movement of the poppet for opening the flow path only in the event of the pressure vessel being mounted to the bracket and the bracket being mounted to a support structure.
COMPOSITE-MATERIAL PRESSURE VESSEL AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE VESSEL
A composite-material pressure vessel (1) has a wall (4) with a reinforcing layer (11) containing one or more reinforcing fibres, wherein the reinforcing layer is an electrical conductor, wherein the wall (4) forms an electrical capacitor (13) having a first plate formed of the reinforcing layer (11), a second plate formed of an electrically conductive layer (15) overlapping the dielectric layer (11), a dielectric layer (14) interposed between the reinforcing layer (11) and the electrically conductive layer (15), as well as electrical terminals (19, 20) connected to the first and the second plates. The vessel control method and system perform electrical tests on the capacitor to derive information about the wall (4) structural condition.
CRYOGENIC STORAGE VESSEL
Draining a cryogenic storage vessel to remove a pump is timing consuming, expensive and can result in increased greenhouse gas emissions. A cryogenic storage vessel comprises an inner vessel defining a cryogen space and an outer vessel spaced apart from and surrounding the inner vessel, defining a thermally insulating space between the inner and outer vessels. A receptacle comprises an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve, and defines passages for delivery of liquefied gas from the cryogen space to outside the cryogenic storage vessel. The outer sleeve intersects opposite sides of the inner vessel, with the opposite ends of the outer sleeve defining an interior space in fluid communication with the thermally insulating space that is sealed from the cryogen space. The inner sleeve has an open end supported from the outer vessel, and extends into the interior space defined by the outer sleeve, and a closed end opposite the open end, defining a receptacle space that is fluidly isolated from the thermally insulating space. A fluid communication channel extends from the cryogen space to the receptacle space, and can be selectively closed to allow the pump to be removed.
Remote fire extinguisher station inspection
An apparatus for remote inspection of fire extinguishers at one or a system of fire extinguisher stations includes, e.g., at each fire extinguisher station: a detector for lack of presence of a fire extinguisher in its installed position at the fire extinguisher station; a detector for out-of-range pressure of contents of the fire extinguisher at the fire extinguisher station; a detector for an obstruction to viewing of or access to the fire extinguisher at the fire extinguisher station; and a device for transmission of inspection report information from the fire extinguisher station to a remote central station.
Fire extinguisher charging nozzle
A recharging nozzle, a fire extinguisher configured with a recharging nozzle, and a method of recharging a pressurized water fire extinguisher using the recharging nozzle where the recharging nozzle is configured to be insertable into an air pressure quick disconnect fitting connected to a source of pressurized air.
