Gas filling method
To provide a gas filling method in which it is possible to estimate a volume of a tank with high accuracy even when the tank has a small volume. A hydrogen filling system includes a hydrogen station having a pressure accumulator of compressed hydrogen gas, a vehicle having a hydrogen tank, a connection tube system that connects the accumulator and the tank, and a flow rate sensor and a station pressure sensor provided on the connection tube system. A hydrogen gas filling method is a method of filling the tank with the hydrogen gas from the pressure accumulator and includes estimating a volume of the hydrogen tank based on detection values of the flow rate sensor and the station pressure sensor and a volume value of the connection tube system, after a start of filling of the hydrogen tank with the hydrogen gas from the pressure accumulator.
Organic composite gas storage tank
An organic composite gas storage tank 100 comprises a hollow central portion 106 which is substantially cylindrical and formed integrally with first and second end portions 102, 104, and which defines a longitudinal tank axis 301. The first end portion comprises a hollow truncated conical region which meets the hollow central portion at a first end thereof, the outer and inner radii of the hollow truncated conical region decreasing in a direction along the longitudinal tank axis away from the hollow central portion. An organic fibre winding 107 extends at least between axial positions which coincide with the hollow truncated conical region of the first end portion and the hollow central portion respectively. The first end portion has a higher axial strength than that achievable for hemispherical end portion of a tank of the prior art.
INTEGRATED MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR INTEGRATED OPERATION OF A HYDRIDE STORAGE SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a composite material for hydrogen storage based on metal hydrides and to a method of operating a hydrogen storage system based on metal hydrides capable of releasing and absorbing hydrogen. Such hydrogen storage systems based on metal hydrides may be applicable as a fuel source for a fuel cell. The composite material for hydrogen storage comprises a powder or pellets of a hydride and a phase changing material (PCM), wherein the PCM is an encapsulated phase changing material (EPCM) which is homogeneously dispersed within the powder or pellets of the hydride.
Gas storage system
Among other things, a gas storage system includes a group of capsules and an activation element coupled to the group. The group of capsules are formed within a substrate and contain gas stored at a relatively high pressure compared to atmospheric pressure. The activation element is configured to deliver energy in an amount sufficient to cause at least one of the capsules to release stored gas.
External fuel metering valve with shuttle mechanism
A handheld combustion powered fastening tool may include a driving system that drives fasteners into workpieces in response to combustion of fuel by the driving system. A fuel delivery system may supply fuel to the driving system. The fuel delivery system may include a fuel canister storing liquid fuel, such as liquid hydrocarbons such as propane, and a fuel metering valve supplying a previously set amount, or volume, of fuel from the fuel canister to the driving system for combustion.
Pressure relief device
A pressure relief device includes a housing member having an inner space, a piston member provided in the inner space of the housing member, and a fusible member provided in a region below the piston member. The piston member includes an upper end region formed at an upper end in the up-down direction (H), and a connection region which is formed below the upper end region and extends downward from the upper end region while being connected to the upper end region. A first width (W1) of the upper end region in a left-right direction (A) is equal to a second width (W2) of the connection region in the left-right direction (A) or less than the second width (W2).
FUEL TRANSFER STATION AND REFILLABLE FUEL CELL FOR FUEL TRANSFER STATION
A fuel transfer station may provide for the refilling of fuel canisters providing fuel to combustion powered equipment. The fuel transfer station may include a base, a frame coupled to the base, a first connection port and a second connection port provided in the base, and fluid flow lines connecting the first connection port and the second connection port. A supply tank may be supported by the frame and detachably connected to the first connection port. A fuel canister to be refilled may be detachably connected to the second connection port. Fuel contained in the supply tank may be selectively supplied to the fuel canister through the fluid flow lines in response to a pressure gradient drawing the fuel into the fuel canister.
ORGANIC COMPOSITE GAS STORAGE TANK
An organic composite gas storage tank 300 comprises a hollow central portion 306 which is substantially cylindrical and formed integrally with first and second end portions 302, 304, and which defines a longitudinal tank axis 301. The first end portion comprises a hollow truncated conical region which meets the hollow central portion at a first end thereof. The hollow central portion comprises first and second hollow truncated conical portions 306A, 306B, the external radius of a given hollow truncated conical portion decreasing in a direction towards a corresponding end portion. The tank comprises an organic composite fibre winding extending between first and second positions along the length of the tank which coincide with the first and second hollow truncated conical portions of the hollow central portion respectively, biassing these portions together and increasing the axial strength of the central portion.
ORGANIC COMPOSITE GAS STORAGE TANK

The first end portion 102 comprises a hollow truncated conical region 102A which meets the hollow central portion at a first end thereof, and a cylindrical region 102B which meets an end of the hollow truncated conical portion remote from the hollow central portion. An organic fibre winding 107 extends at least between axial positions which coincide with the hollow truncated conical region of the first end portion and the hollow central portion respectively. A hollow metal end-fitting 120 has a hollow truncated conical portion 124 embedded within the wall of the hollow truncated conical region of the first end portion, providing a long leakage path around the metal end-fitting.
ENERGY UTILIZATION SYSTEM
An energy utilization system can initially store a plurality of different fuels in a fuel storage pod before choosing a fuel ratio with a blend module connected to the fuel storage pod. The fuel ratio chosen in response to an electrical generation parameter tracked by the blend module. The supply of at least two of the plurality of different fuels to a power generator with the chosen fuel ratio allows for the combustion of the supplied fuels with the electrical power generator to create electricity.
