Method for producing a sealed and thermally insulating barrier for a storage tank
A method for producing a sealed and thermally insulating wall for a fluid storage tank includes attaching plural anchoring elements to a support structure; installing modular formwork elements on the support structure, the modular formwork elements having a shape that protrudes relative to the support structure and that defines, with the support structure and the plurality of anchoring parts, compartments having an open side opposite the support structure; spraying insulating foam into the compartments through the open side to form plural insulating sectors made from sprayed insulating foam; arranging insulating junction elements in a stressed position in which they are stressed between the insulating sectors and capable of expanding when the insulating sectors contract, to ensure continuity of the thermal insulation; and attaching a sealing membrane to the anchoring elements.
NH3 STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A liquefaction heat pump system may have: a storage vessel configured to receive a liquified fuel from a piping grid network. A heat pump circuit may include sequentially at least a compression stage configured to compress the fuel, a heat pump stage configured to receive the compressed fuel from the compression stage, and to heat a coolant by removing heat from the compressed fuel by at least one heat exchanger. A pumping arrangement is configured to pump fuel from the storage vessel and/or from the heat pump circuit back to the piping grid network. A controller unit is configured for operating the liquefaction heat pump system such that fuel is liquefied and a coolant is heated by the heat pump circuit.
LIQUIEFYING A GASEOUS MEDIUM
An arrangement comprising at least one liquefaction plant for liquefying a gaseous medium to produce a liquefied medium; and at least one storage tank for storing the liquefied medium. A first transfer line is provided which is connected between the liquefaction plant and the storage tank, for transferring liquefied medium from the liquefaction plant into the storage tank. A second transfer line is connected between the liquefaction plant and the storage tank, for transferring gaseous medium from the storage tank into the liquefaction plant. The second transfer line, which used for transferring medium from the storage tank into the liquefaction plant, is arranged so that it is routed at least partially through the area of the storage tank in which the liquefied medium is stored in use.
METHOD OF NITROGEN GAS RECOVERY FROM GAS VENTS
A method of vapor recovery is provided. One embodiment of the method of vapor recovery includes providing a combined gas phase and liquid phase fluid, by way of a pipe, wherein the pipe comprises a gas vent. Then removing at least a portion of the gas phase fluid with the gas vent. Then compressing the removed portion of gas phase fluid, thereby forming compressed gas stream. And finally accumulating the compressed gas stream in a storage tank downstream of the compressor.
Cryogenic trench/trough apparatus and method
A method of installing a trough or trench for containing a cryogenic spill, includes the step of constructing multiple precast concrete sections at a first location, each section having a bottom wall and spaced apart side walls connected to and extending up from the bottom wall. Each section has end portions that enable connection to another concrete section. The method includes (at the first location), preparing multiple panels of polymeric concrete material by filling one or more molds with a slurry or liquid polymeric concrete material and after time allowing the material to cure and harden. At the first location, one or more of the panels is adhered to the bottom wall and side walls of each concrete section using an adhesive. After adhering of the panels to the concrete sections, the concrete sections are transported from the first location to a second location that is remote from the first location. At the second location, the concrete sections are connected together using connections that join one end portion of a concrete section to and end portion of another concrete section. In one embodiment, the trough or trench is placed next to a pipe rack having cryogen containing flow lines. A slab and riser arrangement preferably channel any spill to the trough or trench.
