Folding illumination stand
A folding illumination stand having a pair of flat wire discs connected by two linear wire legs at rotational joints and by a further wire leg with one end removably joined so that the stand is foldable into a generally flat configuration. A vertically oriented flashlight is forced against an underside of an upper one of the discs by a spring mounted on a lower one of the discs. The flashlight's beam is directed vertically up through the upper disc and into a translucent container rested on the upper disk. This causes the container to glow, emitting a diffuse ambient illumination.
Illumination Devices with Adjustable Optical Elements
Illumination devices with adjustable optical elements configured to provide a variable illumination pattern of an area are described. The adjustable optical elements of the illumination devices can be traversed relative to a surface (e.g., a ceiling of a room) to vary the light distribution and/or intensity to the surface.
LUMINAIRE WITH HOLLOW OPTICAL SYSTEMS
A luminaire includes multiple light-emitting elements (LEEs); a base supporting the LEEs; and a first wall and a second wall each extending along a first direction from a respective first end facing the LEEs to a respective second end. The first and second walls have light-reflective surfaces facing each other. In one or more cross-sectional planes parallel to the first direction, the light-reflective surfaces of the first and second walls have first portions that curve in opposite directions, second portions that are parallel, and third portions that curve in like directions. The first portions are arranged facing the LEEs to provide an input aperture that receives light from the LEEs. The third portions are arranged to provide an exit aperture that outputs output light into an ambient environment. The first and second walls are configured to propagate light from the input aperture to the exit aperture.
