A light control system comprises a light control device and a sensor module configured to detect a motion pattern of a user's hand relative to the entranceway and a light control device. The light control device includes a housing, a proximity sensor configured to detect a position of a door in a vicinity of the entranceway, and a light controller disposed in the housing and communicated with the sensor module and the proximity sensor. The light controller is configured to control the light strip in response to a detected position of the door by the proximity sensor; and control the light strip in response to the motion pattern detected by the sensor module when the door is not detected at a preset opening position or no door is present at the entranceway.

An LED-based light includes one or more LEDs, a sensor arranged to detect a brightness level in an area resulting from the combination of light emitted by the LEDs with light from at least one ambient light source other than the LEDs, and operable to output a signal corresponding to the detected brightness level, a controller operable to regulate an amount of power provided to the LEDs in response to the signal, a light transmitting housing for the LEDs, the sensor and the controller and a connector shaped for connection with a light socket disposed at an end of the housing.

A portable light bulb system includes a bulb that is removably coupled to a mounting bracket affixed to a support surface. The bulb includes an internal battery power supply and a LED light engine. A base of the bulb has a diameter sized to prevent the base from being inadvertently inserted into a conventional 110 volt electrical light bulb socket. The system also includes a wireless module communication device configured to wirelessly communicate with the bulb. In a first use position, operation of the bulb provides illumination to a region proximate the mounting bracket affixed to the support surface. An operator can disconnect the bulb from the bracket and bring the bulb to a second use position where operation of the bulb provides illumination to the second region. The operator can then return the bulb to the bracket at the first use position, or bring the bulb to yet another location for illumination.

The electrical connection device includes a slide which carries a reciprocating electric contactor. A housing has a slot, a proximal end and an opposite distal end. The slide slides along the slot in the housing. A spring in the housing biases the slide toward the distal end of the housing. The housing is connectable to either the left track or to the right track of the sectional door.
