DUEL SOURCE LIGHT SYSTEM
20220185629 · 2022-06-16 ·

Elevator systems, methods, and devices comprising dual source light systems are described herein. Such elevator systems may be associated with or located within wind turbines and wind turbine towers. In embodiments, an elevator cabin may comprise a dual source light system further comprising at least one light source, a supercapacitor unit, an electronic circuit electrically connected to the at least one light source and the supercapacitor, and a housing unit. The dual source light system can receive energy from an external power source, convert one or more characteristics of the energy, e.g., voltage or current, and distribute the energy to the at least one light source. Any excess energy can be used to charge the supercapacitor such that when energy from the external power source is insufficient to power the at least one light source, such as during an outage, the electronic circuit draws energy from the charged supercapacitor.

A lighting assembly including a shell, wherein the shell includes an inner wall defining an inner lumen, an outer wall encircling the inner wall, a set of radial fins connecting the inner and outer walls, the set of fins cooperatively defining a set of cooling channels between adjacent fins, the inner wall, and the outer wall; an insert removably mounted within the inner lumen, the insert defining a power storage lumen; a power storage unit arranged within the power storage lumen; a circuit board coupled to the power storage unit, the circuit board comprising a processor and communication module; a lighting module electrically connected to the circuit board, wherein the lighting module includes a substrate and a set of light emitting elements mounted to a first broad face of the substrate.

EMERGENCY WAYFINDING TECHNOLOGY
20220167488 · 2022-05-26 ·

An emergency wayfinding device including a lighting controller, a lighting circuit, and a light emitting element. The emergency wayfinding device may draw electricity through a twist-lock plug or draw it from a power source such a a battery or a photovoltaic cell. The wide-area communications device is in electrical communication with a connected lighting controller and is configured to send and receive signals or messages to and from a central broadcasting device as well as other emergency wayfinding devices. The lighting controller is configured to change a property of light emitted from a light emitting element based upon signals or messages received by a wide-area communications device. The wide-area communications device communicates a received message or signal to the lighting controller and the lighting controller generates a lighting control signal or message. The lighting controller communicates the generated lighting control signal or message to the lighting circuit, and in response, the lighting circuit changes a property of the light emitted from the light emitting element based upon the lighting control signal or message.

LED LIGHT BALL FOR EMERGENCY RESPONDERS
20220154892 · 2022-05-19 ·

The LED light ball for emergency responders is activated upon contact after being fired from a launcher to illuminate an area of interest, such as a potential crime scene. The ball includes a clear polymeric, spherical outer casing, and a rectangular, clear inner casing having a circuit board mounted therein. A plurality of rig rods extend through the inner casing and include curved heads that are in close proximity to the inner surface of the spherical outer casing. Upon impact, the outer casing flexes and pushes against one of the curved heads and pushes its associated rig rod inward, thereby closing a contact that triggers a control circuit to illuminate the three LEDs providing 2700 lumens or more in illumination. The control circuit maintains the LEDs lit and completely fills the immediate area with light. The LED light ball may be thrown or fired from a conventional compressed air launcher.

LIGHTING FIXTURES WITH LED MODULES CONFIGURED FOR TOOL-LESS ATTACHMENT

Lighting fixtures that include fixture housings and light-emitting diode (LED) modules configured for tool-less attachment and detachment to the fixture housings are disclosed. Certain LED modules include LED emitters, corresponding electronics for operating the LED emitters, and at least one shaped protrusion. Certain LED modules include safety tethers that are configured to provide mechanical support during the tool-less attachment and detachment. Lighting fixtures include a lens and removable endcaps that secure the lens to the fixture housing. Certain lighting fixtures include a backup battery and a button provided in one of the endcaps for testing the backup battery. Certain lighting fixtures include a cut-out portion in the fixture housing corresponding to the shaped protrusion of the LED module for providing identification of replacement LED modules that may be attached to fixture housings.
