THEATRICAL INSTRUMENT WITH IMPROVED SUBTRACTIVE COLOR MIXING SYSTEM
An apparatus for a theatrical lighting instrument including a light source, which emits light in a light path; a lens located in the light path, and which receives light from the light source and projects light from the light source; a computer memory; and a computer processor. The apparatus may also include first pluralities and second pluralities of cyan, magenta and yellow color filters, each filter including a variable density color filter operated upon by a motor configured to traverse each filter in and out of the light path. Each variable density color filter of the first pluralities of filters may include a high saturation color pallet. Each variable density color filter of the second pluralities of filters may include a low saturation color pallet. The computer memory may include software to multiplex the traversing of the first and the second pluralities of filters to one or more control channels.
ANIMATION PROJECTOR
A laser projection device has at least one laser light source and a plurality of gratings, each grating having a light receiving side and a light emitting side. The plurality of gratings are arranged in a ring-shape having at least one row with the light receiving side of each grating facing a center of the ring. The laser projection device also has a motor configured to rotate the plurality of gratings about a rotational axis passing through the center of the ring. The plurality of gratings each comprise a pattern for forming an image when light is passed through the pattern. The plurality of gratings are arranged around the ring such that the plurality of patterns are configured to project an animated image when the plurality of gratings sequentially receive light from the at least one laser light source upon rotation of the grating set.
Decorative Lighting Apparatus
A decorative lighting apparatus including a first light source generating a first light having a first color, a second light source generating a second light having a second color, a first stationary optical element having a diffraction grating and disposed in a first path of the first light generated by the first light source, a second stationary optical element having a diffraction grating and disposed in a second path of the second light generated by the first light source, and a motion assembly. The motion assembly including a first articulating optical element having a diffraction grating and disposed in a first path of the first light being generated by the first light source, a second articulating optical element having a diffraction grating and disposed in a second path of the second light being generated by the second light source, and at least one motor coupled to the first and second articulating element such that a movement generated by the motor drives the first and second articulating optical elements. The motion assembly being configured such that the movement driving the articulating optical elements by the motor causes the first light and the second light to move across a surface onto which the first light and the second light are being projected in a predetermined pattern.
