Illumination device, in particular for a motor vehicle

An illumination device for a motor vehicle includes a multi-aperture projection display having a lighting means for illuminating a plurality of image segments and an array of projection lenses, where each projection lens is assigned an image segment, from the plurality of image segments, that is projected into a projection plane by way of a corresponding one of the projection lens, such that a light distribution is produced from all of the projected image segments in the projection plane. The array of projection lenses comprises a plurality of subarrays, where a respective subarray contains the same projection lenses and the projection lenses of different subarrays differ from one another such that each subarray generates a surface area in the light distribution and a size and/or a position of the generated surface areas varies between the plurality of subarrays.

Headlamp for vehicles

A headlamp for vehicles having a projection module containing a first light source for generating a first light bundle, a reflector assigned to the first light source, a lens, and an edge disposed in a focal plane for generating a low beam light distribution. The headlamp also includes a second light source for generating a second light bundle and an optics unit disposed between the lens and the second light source for generating a supplementary light distribution, such that by superimposing the supplementary light distribution and the low beam light distribution, a high beam light distribution is formed. The optics unit is formed by a flat waveguide having a light entry surface for receiving the second light bundle emitted from the second light source. The second light source is disposed in the proximity of the light entry surface, having a light exit surface, and flat sides extending between the light entry surface and the light exit surface, on which entering light can be conducted through total reflection. A light/dark border of the low beam light distribution is formed by the edge of the flat waveguide formed as the front outer edge, which connects the light exit surface and an upper flat side of the waveguide. The upper flat side of the flat waveguide is provided with a light blocking coating, such that an entry of light beams from the first light bundle striking the upper flat side is prevented.

A vehicle lamp is configured to be able to selectively perform low-beam irradiation and high-beam irradiation. The vehicle lamp includes first and second light-emitting elements and a reflector for reflecting light emitted from these first and second light-emitting elements toward a front. A reflecting surface of the reflector has a first reflection region on which light emitted from the first light-emitting element is incident and a second reflection region on which light emitted from the first light-emitting element is not incident but light emitted from the second light-emitting element is incident. A low-beam light distribution pattern having horizontal and oblique cutoff lines is formed by turning on the first light-emitting element. A high-beam light distribution pattern is formed by turning on the second light-emitting element or simultaneously turning on the first and second light-emitting elements.
