DOCK LIGHT WITH SELF-CORRECTING BEAM
Disclosed is a dock light assembly for illuminating a trailer interior. The dock light assembly may include a cylindrical housing having an illumination source therein, and an optical lens secured to an end of the housing. The optical lens may be configured to provide focused illumination to the trailer interior. A rotationally self-correcting screen device may be positioned between the illumination source and the optical lens. The screen device may be configured to absorb a portion of the focused illumination such that illumination to an upper portion of the trailer interior is reduced. The rotationally self-correcting screen device remains in a horizontal orientation even if the housing is rotated. One benefit of the disclosed dock light assembly is that forklift operators working in the trailer interior are shielded from high intensity light, even though the lower portion of the trailer interior remains brightly lit.

A device for illuminating a space comprising is discussed. In one variation, the device includes: a central body portion, with a length and a width, and including two plates running along the length of the central body portion wherein the two plates are separated by a spacer; an opening for the removal of heat during operation of the device that extends along a portion of the length of the central body portion, a light emitting diode on the central body portion; a reflector, extending from the central body portion, for reflecting light emitted by the light emitting diode towards the illuminated space. Other variations are also discussed as are methods for using suitable variations for retrofitting existing non-light emitting diode light sources.

A display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a substrate; a light-emitting unit including a light emitting element mounted on the substrate and a lens placed above the light-emitting element; a reflective layer placed on the upper surface of the substrate; an optical sheet placed above the reflective layer and placed at a height at which the optical sheet is spaced from the light-emitting unit; and a display panel placed on the upper surface of the optical sheet, wherein the lens has a cutout portion formed therein by depressing a part of the side surface thereof toward the center thereof, thereby providing an anisotropic light distribution.
