Networked LED lighting system
An improved LED lighting system is provided for overhead ceiling lighting, as well as for other uses. The LED lighting system comprises elongated linear lamps having an LED luminary as a source of illumination and configured to operate as a node of an automated networked lighting system. The linear LED lamps have internal modular network connectors and control components so that they can receive control data and power signals over a single network cable according to a standardized power and data network communications architecture such as Ethernet. The system includes connector assemblies designed to securely mount the networkable linear LED lamps to conventional tube lamp lighting fixtures or to another support housing and to provide integrated power and data connectivity to internal components of the lamps. In one form, the disclosed system includes a network enabled snap-fit connector assembly mounted to a lighting fixture and configured to provide Ethernet power and data connectivity to the lamp. The LED lamps have first and second mechanical connectors at opposite ends of the lamp body, and the snap-fit connectors are configured to secure the lamps to an overhead lighting fixture or other support structure as an incident of the lamp ends moving relative to the mounting connectors in a substantially straight path that is transverse to the length of the body into an engaged position. The snap-fit connectors are also configured to form a network connection with an internal modular network connector associated with the lamp with the lamp mounted in its operative state on a support. In another form, a clipping mechanism is provided for mounting linear networkable LED lamps to an overhead grid ceiling system.
Modular illumination assembly
A modular illumination assembly provides at least one elongated light emitting diode lamp that joins other light emitting diode lamps in parallel series, through connecting junction boxes. The lamp comprises a shield that at least partially covers the lamp to directionally guide the emanated light in a desired direction. A pair of lamp holders provide circuitry and a switch for operation of the lamp. The lamp holders also comprise an adjustable retention member to fasten the termini of the lamp to restrict lateral slippage by the lamp. The lamp holders also comprise an anchor to receive a cable for hanging the light emitting diode lamp. The junction box forms an elongated ridge, and the lamp holder forms an elongated slot. The ridge and the slot slidably engage to enable detachable attachment between the junction box and the lamp holder, so as to connect multiple lamps in a parallel arrangement.
Method and Assembly for Replacing Fluorescent Lights
End caps that attach to any standard tubing to facilitate mounting a tube with LEDs into an existing fluorescent lamp cabinet. The tube can be cut to a desired length. The end caps can be supported by the fluorescent fixtures or mounting brackets in the cabinet. An assembly comprising a light emitting diode (LED) lamp for replacing fluorescent tube lights.
Linear light fixture interconnect with anti-snaking feature
Provided is a light fixture including an end portion that features a mechanism configured to lock the light fixture via the end portion to another end portion disposed at one extremity of another light fixture. The mechanism also includes a lever configured to lock the light fixture with the other end portion.
Method for adapting LED lamp tube to fluorescent lamp tube holder, LED lamp tube holder and illumination device
A method for adapting an LED lamp tube to a fluorescent lamp tube holder, an LED lamp tube holder and an illumination device. The LED lamp tube holder comprises an adaptation bracket and a lamp tube holding clip which is connected to the adaptation bracket. The lamp tube holding clip has a circular-arc cylindrical holding surface, thereby being clamped to the outer wall of a light transmission tube of the LED lamp tube. A cylindrical pin which axially extends from the LED lamp tube holder along the light transmission tube is arranged on the adaptation bracket. The shape of the pin is the same as that of an electrically-conductive pin of the fluorescent lamp tube, thereby enabling the LED lamp tube holder to be arranged in the fluorescent lamp tube holder. The LED lamp tube can be arranged on the basis of the original LED lamp tube holder.
Lighting device with socket connector positioning light source apart from housing
A lighting device includes a housing; a socket with a first portion coupled to an inner surface of the housing and a second portion extending from the first portion and including a connector; a light source body having a light emitting module with a terminal received by and in electrical communication with the connector; and a reflector facing the light source body, the light source body supported by the socket at a position apart from the housing.
Filament based solid state lighting device
A lighting device (1) is disclosed comprising a transmissive housing (3) and a filament (10) within said transmissive housing. The filament comprises a transmissive substrate (20) carrying a plurality of solid state lighting elements (30) and a phosphor containing resin coating (40) enveloping said filament. The resin coating includes at least one region (42) leaking light produced by said solid state lighting elements that is unconverted by said phosphor and the transmissive housing carries a further phosphor layer (7) covering part of the transmissive housing for each of said regions of the resin coating, each of said further phosphor layers being arranged to receive said unconverted light leaking from at least one of said regions. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing such a lighting device.
Lamp Reflector, Bulb, and Safety Socket
This invention relates generally to the field of lighting products, and more particularly, a luminaire configured to provide optimal conditions for the growth of vegetation in indoor and/or greenhouse conditions in a way that is efficient for the users of those products.
DOUBLE-ENDED LAMP SOCKET SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A double-ended socket system for safely and easily seating a double-ended lamp is disclosed. The system has two socket assemblies spaced a distance corresponding to the length of a double-ended lamp. Each socket assembly has a housing with a recess that houses a cylindrical socket for receiving a lamp end that rotates between a disengaged orientation and an engaged orientation. The housing has an attached electrical connector connected to a power source. The socket has another attached electrical connector that contacts the electrical connector of the housing only when the socket is rotated to the engaged orientation, thus eliminating the electrical shock hazard of conventional double-ended socket systems. The lamp may be removed only while in the disengaged orientation. A user may install a double-ended lamp into the socket system by use of only one hand. A method of use of a double-ended socket system is also disclosed.
