Lighting apparatus

Hinge devices couple light source units to a base such that the light source units are rotatable around first axes. Each light source unit is rotatable between a first position and a second position around a corresponding first axis of the first axes. Rotation mechanisms couple the light source units to the hinge devices such that the light source units are rotatable around second axes transverse to the first axes. The hinge devices are configured such that when each light source unit rotates from the first position to the second position, rotation directions of the light source units are different. The rotation mechanisms define rotation ranges of the light source units around the second axes to achieve a reference state where the light source units are collected together and light-outgoing surfaces of the light source units face outward when each light source unit is in the first position.

A lighting fixture includes a light emitting module, a first brightness enhancement component and a second brightness enhancement component. The light emitting module includes a light emitting surface. The first brightness enhancement component is disposed on the light emitting surface and corresponds to a first light emitting area of the light emitting module. The first brightness enhancement component concentrates light emitted from the first light emitting area with respect to a first plane, wherein the first plane is defined by a first axis and a first direction perpendicular to the first brightness enhancement component. The second brightness enhancement component concentrates light emitted from the second light emitting area with respect to a second plane, wherein the second plane is defined by a second axis and a second direction perpendicular to the second brightness enhancement component, and the first axis is not parallel to the second axis.

LED lighting methods and apparatus

LED related lighting methods and apparatus are described. Various features relate to water tight light fixtures. Some of the fixtures are flood lights. The light fixtures in at least some embodiments include power control features. In flood light embodiments beam angle and power or light output distribution can be controlled without opening the light assembly or compromising the water tight seals which also protect against dirt. The light fixtures also support tilt angle adjustments and light fixture head adjustments. Beam distribution pattern can also be changed in some embodiments as well as power control. Beam distribution pattern, power control and tilt angle adjustments are supported in some embodiments but need not be supported in all embodiments with some embodiments using one or more of the described features but not all features.

A portable work light is disclosed having a light fixture with one or more rotational degrees of freedom that are automatically actuated such that a light thereof can maintain optimal lighting for a target person in a jobsite environment. Particularly, the portable work light is advantageously configured to track a target person's location within the jobsite environment and automatically reorient the light fixture as needed to maintain optimal illumination of the jobsite for the target person. In this way, the non-value-added work of repositioning or reorienting the work light is eliminated, thus enhancing the productivity of the target person at the jobsite.

SUPPORT FOR LIFE-LIGHT

A stable base supports a handle portion of an emergency light. The stable base has a stand portion and a base portion, which are separated from each other. The stand portion is assembled about the handle portion of the light, and has two pivotable legs extending therefrom. The handle portion itself together with the base portion forms a third leg. The base portion is formed from an upper and a lower portion assembled with a connecting member. A plate is formed on the lower base portion. In a first configuration, the legs are generally transverse to an axis of the emergency light handle, to form a tripod-like support on approximately level ground. In a second configuration, the legs are disposed downwardly so as to be generally parallel to the axis of the handle portion, such that the tips of the legs are disposed downward and are adapted to be inserted into the ground to resist high winds and gusts. In a third configuration, the legs are raised upward such that the tips of the legs are disposed adjacent to the handle portion of the emergency light, and are adapted to be inserted into a container for storage or shipping.
