Spray heads for use with desuperheaters and desuperheaters including such spray heads. One example of a spray head includes a main body having an exterior surface and defining a central passage, the main body adapted for connection to a source of fluid, at least one entrance port formed in the main body along the central passage, and at least one spray nozzle arranged adjacent the exterior surface of the main body. The spray head also includes a plurality of flow passages, each of the plurality of flow passages providing fluid communication between the entrance port and an exit opening of the spray nozzle. A first one of the plurality of flow passages follows a first non-linear path and has a first distance, and a second one of the plurality of flow passages follows a second non-linear path and has a second distance different from the first distance.

Desuperheater and spray nozzles therefor

A spray nozzle assembly has a housing with a body and cap flange secure to the body to define a bore within the housing. A first aperture is formed through the body and intersects the bore and a second aperture is formed through the cap flange and intersects the bore. A nozzle sleeve is disposed within the bore and has a solid, unitary sleeve body. First and second fluid passages are formed through the sleeve body. The first fluid passage is in fluid communication with the first aperture and a first exit aperture in an end of the sleeve body. The second fluid passage is in fluid communication with the second aperture and second and third exit apertures in the end of the sleeve body, which are positioned on opposite sides of the first exit aperture. A portion of the second fluid passage surrounds the first fluid passage.

Operating method for a separator and separator

An operating method for a separator for classifying, wherein superheated steam is supplied to the separator as separating gas, and wherein the temperature of the superheated steam as separating gas is selected to be so low that in particular no condensation of the superheated steam occurs in the separator. Further, a separator for classifying, wherein the separator includes a separating gas supply including a water infeed for generating superheated steam as separating gas, and wherein adjusting or regulating means for the temperature of the superheated steam are provided as separating gas and are designed in such a way that the temperature of the superheated steam as separating gas is adjusted to be so low that in particular no condensation of the superheated steam occurs in the separator.

FLUID GUARD NOZZLE

Presented is a fixture to be attached to a device, and method of use thereof, designed to project a fluid upon a surface or object where the distance between the surface or object and the source of applied fluid is in need of precise control. Such need of distance control could be where the fluid, due to temperature or abrasiveness might damage the surface if applied to closely or where the distance may need to be precise where a fluid, such as paint, needs to be applied at a specific distance for optimal coverage.

Multi-cone, multi-stage spray nozzle

A multi-cone, multi-stage spray nozzle includes a nozzle body, a valve stem with a first valve head, and a second valve head attached to the first valve head. The first valve stem is biased into a closed position against a valve seat of the nozzle body by a bias device. The second valve head is continuously open. Upon the application of a first fluid pressure, which is less than a threshold fluid pressure, the bias device maintains the valve stem in the closed position while the second valve head is continuously open. And upon the application of a second fluid pressure, which is at least as great as the threshold fluid pressure, the valve stem moves to an open position while the second valve head remains continuously open.
