Processing of gesture-based user interactions using volumetric zones
Systems and methods for processing gesture-based user interactions within an interactive display area are provided. The display of one or more virtual objects and user interactions with the one or more virtual objects may be further provided. Multiple interactive areas may be created by partitioning an area proximate a display into multiple volumetric spaces or zones. The zones may be associated with respective user interaction capabilities. A representation of a user on the display may change as the ability of the user to interact with one or more virtual object changes.
Gaming device and gaming device recognition method
A gaming device and a gaming device recognition method are provided. The method is applicable to an electronic device having an image capturing device, a storage device and a processor, and includes following steps. A captured image of the gaming device is captured by the image capturing device, wherein the gaming device includes a recognition code having anchor grids and recognition grids. Then, a first image is generated by performing image processing on the captured image, and the anchor grids of the first image are recognized. Next, a recognition template is decided according to the anchor grids, wherein the recognition template including code grids and grid numbers of each code grid. Finally, a filled status of each code grid is determined according to the first image, and a tag code corresponding to the recognition code is generated according to the filled status of each code grid and the grid numbers.
VIRTUAL INPUT DEVICE FOR MOBILE PHONE
A virtual input device for a mobile phone is revealed. The virtual input device includes a housing for stable placement on a flat surface, a mobile-phone mounting member that allows the mobile phone used able to be mounted thereon horizontally or vertically, and a virtual input module wirelessly connected to the mobile phone for generating a virtual input image having virtual input function and a larger area than the screen of the mobile phone. Thereby users can complete input to the mobile phone or control mobile games by the virtual input image.
Glasses case and system
A glasses case for a pair of glasses that in turn includes an integral display, the glasses case including a housing, where the housing encloses a volume in which the glasses are to be stored; and a battery operably coupled to a power access unit from which the glasses, when stored in the housing volume, can draw power; and where the housing of the glasses case includes, on the outer portion thereof, user control inputs laid out in a configuration similar to, and operational as, a conventional handheld videogame controller, and adapted to provide inputs to a computing system driving the integral display of the glasses.
DISPLAYING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE OF A USER USING AN ARRAY OF INFRARED ILLUMINATORS
Methods, devices, and systems related to generating a three-dimensional (3-D) image using an array of infrared (IR) illuminators are described. In an example, a method can include projecting a number of IR dots on a user using a dot projector configured on a surface of a mobile device and an array of IR illuminators configured on the surface of the mobile device, capturing an IR image of the number of IR dots using an IR camera configured on the surface of the mobile device, and displaying a 3-D image of the user on a display or graphical user interface of the mobile device at least partially based on the captured IR image using a processing resource.
Gameplay system with play augmented by merchandise
A gameplay system for providing interactivity based on a piece of merchandise or other object held or worn by a player. Th system includes an object identification assembly, which may be a modified computer vision system, that operates to sense, for a gameplay participant, the presence and identity of a particular augmenting object such as themed merchandise worn or held by a rider of a theme park ride. The sensing may be performed by detecting an on-and-off pattern of light emitted from the object. In response, the gameplay system selects or modifies the interactive features of gameplay associated with the participant based on the identified augmenting object. For example, the interactive features are selected from memory by the gameplay system controller to match a character associated with the augmenting object during any interactive gameplay. This allows the gameplay participant to choose their abilities or powers for gameplay.
Image rendering responsive to user actions in head mounted display
Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for rendering images on a head mounted display (HMD). One method includes operations for tracking, with one or more first cameras inside the HMD, the gaze of a user and for tracking motion of the HMD. The motion of the HMD is tracked by analyzing images of the HMD taken with a second camera that is not in the HMD. Further, the method includes an operation for predicting the motion of the gaze of the user based on the gaze and the motion of the HMD. Rendering policies for a plurality of regions, defined on a view rendered by the HMD, are determined based on the predicted motion of the gaze. The images are rendered on the view based on the rendering policies.
Position tracking apparatus and method
A positional tracking system for tracking a user includes: a plurality of tracking units to be worn by a user, a tracking unit identification unit operable to identify the plurality of tracking units, and a position identification unit operable to identify a position of a user in dependence upon the location of the plurality of tracking units, where each of the plurality of tracking units is operable to transmit a signal that may be used to locate that tracking unit, and wherein the transmitted signal comprises information identifying the transmitting tracking unit and its position and/or orientation.
Hybrid golf launch monitor
A golf launch monitor is configured to determine a flight characteristic of a golf ball. The golf launch monitor includes two low-speed cameras, a trigger device, and a processor. The trigger device is configured to detect a golf swing. The processor is configured to instruct, upon the trigger device detecting said golf swing, the first camera to capture the first ball image; instruct the second camera to capture the second ball image after a time interval, wherein the time interval is less than the first frame rate and the second frame rate; and determine, based at least in part on the first ball image and the second ball image, the flight characteristic of the golf ball.
System and method for progressive enhancement of in-app augmented reality advertising
A method of performing operations for executing a progressive interactive augmented reality (AR) advertisement display during execution of a running application is disclosed. based on a receiving of a first trigger event from the running application, a first aspect of the progressive AR advertisement is executed within a display window while the application is executing. The first aspect includes an interactive advertisement. Based on a receiving of a second trigger event from within the first aspect of the progressive AR advertisement, a second aspect of the progressive AR advertisement is executed in the display window while the application is executing. The second aspect includes an interactive AR advertisement.
