An electronic device incorporating a high voltage power supply connected to a pair of metal plates spaced to maintain a continuous high current arc of electricity creating an Ion Plasma discharge for the purpose of vaporizing documents placed between the plates. Magnetic containment coils around the outside of the metal plates are phase synchronized to the magnetic field created by the Ion Plasma arc to maintain the position of the arc between the plates and to direct the position of the arc in a predetermined pattern to search for any material between the plates that has not been disintegrated.

A method and a facility for producing electricity, wherein the following steps are performed: a) supplying a solid recovered fuel, b) producing a raw synthesis gas from the solid recovered fuel, c) purifying the raw synthesis gas in order to generate a synthesis gas in which the reduced concentration of tars determines a dew point of the tars less than or equal to 20 C., d) cleaning the synthesis gas purified in this way in order to obtain a clean synthetic gas, e) lowering the relative humidity of the clean synthesis gas, and f) injecting at least a portion thereof into a gas engine in order to produce electricity.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING EMISSIONS USING A TRANSIENT PULSED PLASMA

A method and system to treat emissions (e.g., smoke, particulate, odor, grease) employs a nanosecond high voltage pulse generator, a transient pulsed plasma reactor, and a DC voltage source that supplies a DC bias voltage, preferably a negative DC bias voltage to a conductor of the transient pulsed plasma reactor. The system is used in a scheme that substantially reduces at least particulate matter in emissions streams, for example emissions streams produced during cooking, for instance in commercial charbroiling processes (e.g., cooking of hamburger meat), or from operation of internal combustion engines. Both a reduction in the size distribution and total particulate mass is achieved using the method and system described herein.

Cost effective plasma combined heat and power system
10539043 · 2020-01-21 · ·

A method of generating syngas as a primary product from renewable feedstock, fossil fuels, or hazardous waste with the use of a cupola. The cupola operates on inductive heat alone, chemically assisted heat, or plasma assisted heat. Cupola operation is augmented by employing carbon or graphite rods to carry electrical current into the metal bath that is influenced by the inductive element. The method includes the steps of providing a cupola for containing a metal bath; and operating an inductive element to react with the metal bath. A combination of fossil fuel, a hazardous waste, and a hazardous material is supplied to the cupola. A plasma torch operates on the metal bath directly, indirectly, or in a downdraft arrangement. Steam, air, oxygen enriched air, or oxygen are supplied to the metal bath. A pregassifier increases efficiency and a duct fired burner is added to a simple cycle turbine with fossil fuel augmentation.

It is composed of a main body having an inlet and a cap for opening and closing the inlet, a pyrolysis incinerator for receiving the hospital waste that is disposed in the interior of the main body and connected with the inlet, a plasma flame generator installed inside the main body and generating a plasma flame toward the pyrolysis incinerator, a complete combustion device which is installed in the main body and completely burns the smoke and the odor generated due to the incineration with a plasma flame of 1,500 to 3,000 C., a complete combustion exhaust device connected to the complete combustion device to exhaust the combustion gas, and the cooling device for cooling the combustion gas.

Regenerator for syngas cleanup and energy recovery in gasifier systems

A rotating heat regenerator is used to recover heat from the syngas at it exits the reactor vessel of a waste or biomass gasifier. In some embodiments, three or more streams are passed through the heat exchanger. One stream is the dirty syngas, which heats the rotating material. A second stream is a cold stream that is heated as it passes through the material. A third stream is a cleaning stream, which serves to remove particulates that are collected on the rotating material as the dirty syngas passes through it. This apparatus can also be used as an auto-heat exchanger, or it can exchange heat between separate flows in the gasifier process. The apparatus can also be used to reduce the heating requirement for the thermal residence chamber (TRC) used downstream from the gasification system.

Method and facility for incinerating, melting and vitrifying organic and metal waste

The method according to the invention enables a facility having a rather reduced dimension, for incinerating to be used, melting and vitrifying mixed waste (30) introduced into a reactor (10), by means of a basket (18) in turn passing through an air lock (12). Plasma torches (14) burn all waste (30) contained in the basket (18). The waste is then lowered in a melting bath of a furnace (20) with an inductor (24) including a crucible-forming container (23). A combustion gas treatment train completes the facility. The furnace (20) can be dismantled, after a series of treatments of several baskets (18) of waste (30) for disassembling the crucible-forming container (23) from the furnace (20). Application in treating different radiologically contaminated and/or toxic mixed waste.
