System and method for combustion of multiple fuels
According to embodiments, a co-fired or multiple fuel combustion system is configured to apply an electric field to a combustion region corresponding to a second fuel that normally suffers from poor combustion and/or high sooting. Application of an AC voltage to the combustion region was found to increase the extent of combustion and significantly reduce soot evolved from the second fuel.
Method and apparatus for the treatment of waste material
A method and an apparatus for treating comminuted waste material the method comprising: a) heating comminuted waste material in a heating chamber (28) using one or more heating means (40a-f) to generate a combustible gas b) measuring or determining the temperature in the heating chamber; c) comparing the measured or determined temperature in the heating chamber (28) with a predetermined temperature range; and d) adjusting the amount of heat applied by the one or more heating means (40a-f) to the heating chamber (28) to maintain the temperature in the heating chamber within the predetermined temperature range.
WASTE INCINERATION FACILITY
The waste incineration facility includes a waste pit for receiving waste and an incinerator for incinerating the waste stored in the waste pit. The waste incineration facility further includes: a fermentation dryer configured to ferment and dry the waste while heating the waste to a predetermined temperature range under reduced pressure; and a storage hopper configured to store a fermented dried product produced in the fermentation dryer. The fermented dried product stored in the storage hopper is charged into the incinerator to incinerate the fermented dried product. The waste incineration facility further includes: a first conveyor connecting the waste pit and the fermentation dryer; and a second conveyor connecting the fermentation dryer and the storage hopper. The first conveyor and the second conveyor are driven to continuously perform production of the fermented dried product from the waste in the waste pit and storage of the fermented dried product in the storage hopper.
