STORAGE MEDIUM HAVING GAME PROGRAM STORED THEREON, GAME APPARATUS AND INPUT DEVICE
An example device includes a touchscreen and a processing system in communication with the touchscreen. The processing system is configured to perform operations including detecting a touch-on position on the touchscreen, setting a reference position based on the touch-on position, continuously detecting subsequent touch positions on the touchscreen after detecting the touch-on, and continuously performing operations based on one or both of a direction and a distance from the reference position to the subsequent touch positions.
DISTRIBUTION AND CUSTOM DISPLAY OF GRAPHICAL COMPONENTS
A GUI component can be automatically displayed or customized, such as through location redeployment; color changes, shape changes, transcoding, or other modifications. In some implementations, GUI component customization can include cross-platform GUI component distribution. In some implementations, GUI component customization can be accomplished by providing views of GUI components that are not standard in the GUI applications, to provide input to the GUI applications, and to interact with other users across multiple GUI applications and devices. In some implementations, GUI component customization can include GUI component extraction and redeployment. In some implementations, GUI component customization can include auto-launching GUI components or a control window upon loading a gaming application.

Server based interactive video game with toys
A video game system comprising a console (such as a game console, computer, mobile device or web site), a peripheral for a gaming platform, and a toy. The gaming platform is capable of identifying the toy and a character corresponding to the toy is depicted in the video game. The video game character corresponding to the toy has certain characteristics and/or attributes. The data for these characteristics and attributes is stored on a server accessible to each compatible gaming platform. As the user uses the character to play the video game, thereby altering the character's characteristics and attributes, the updated attributes are stored by the game system to the server connected to the game system. Updated character data is thereafter available to the user for subsequent game play via any gaming platform connected to the server.
PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A portable electronic device 100 includes a horizontally long casing, both ends of which are gripped by a user's both hands, respectively. The device further includes a LCD fit into the front face of the casing 10. Outwardly projecting bulges are respectively formed at both sides of the rear face of the casing where fingers of the user gripping the casing 10 placed. Since the fingers and palms are naturally flexed to fit to the dome-like bulges 42L, 42R, the portable electronic device 100 fits comfortably in the user's hands. The operability is hard to be degraded even if the device is vibrated strongly during a game play with the device.
Mobile terminal, control method for mobile terminal, and program
A mobile terminal, a control method for mobile terminal, and a program that make it possible to enjoy a game even in a situation in which only one hand can be used. A mobile terminal according to the invention is a mobile terminal used in a game. The mobile terminal according to the invention includes a detection unit configured to detect an orientation of the mobile terminal and a control unit configured to change over a manipulation mode of a game depending upon the orientation of the mobile terminal detected by the detection unit.
Method and system for providing content for learning appliances over an electronic communication medium
A method for providing electronic content for a learning appliance is disclosed. The method includes selecting a learning appliance from a set of different learning appliances on a host site. The set of learning appliances is previously selected from a group of learning appliances. The electronic content package is received and is loaded into the learning appliance.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PLAYING AN INTERACTIVE GAME
An interactive treasure hunt game is provided. Game participants receive a card, map and/or identification badge configured with an RFID tag, bar-code or a magnetic swipe strip or the like. The RFID tag or other identifying device is used to store certain information identifying each play participant and/or describing certain powers or abilities possessed by an imaginary character that the card may represent. Players advance in the game by finding clues and solving various puzzles presented by the game. Players may also gain (or lose) certain attributes, such as magic skills, magic strength, fighting ability, various spell-casting abilities, etc. All of this information is preferably stored on the RFID tag or card so that the character attributes may be easily and conveniently transported to other similarly-equipped play facilities, computer games, video games, home game consoles, hand-held game units, and the like. In this manner, the game can seamlessly transcend from one play environment and/or entertainment medium to the next.
