Expansion joint spring clip
09714734 · 2017-07-25 · ·

An expansion joint spring clip can eliminate flutter, pulsations and reverse bending on non-metallic fabric flue duct expansion joints. The expansion joint spring clip can hold the expansion joint in a fixed arch such that it can still perform its function with regard to accommodating the ducting system movements. The expansion joint spring clip allows the entire width of the non-metallic expansion joint to retain its position during start-ups, downloading and during full or partial boiler, kiln, furnace loads and the like. The expansion joint spring clip can be installed in the existing geometry of an expansion joint by producing an arch while not damaging the expansion joint after being installed. The expansion joint can still accommodate axial and limited lateral movements, allowing the expansion joint to perform its function.

An exhaust adapter secures an exhaust tube relative to an exhaust pipe. The exhaust adapter is formed to have an annular shape enclosing a through hole, and is mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the exhaust tube and on the inner peripheral surface of the exhaust pipe by inserting the exhaust tube into the through hole. When the exhaust adapter is being fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the exhaust tube, the inner peripheral surface of the exhaust adapter presses the outer peripheral surface of the exhaust tube, and when the exhaust adapter is being fitted on the inner peripheral surface of the exhaust pipe, the outer peripheral surface of the exhaust adapter presses the inner peripheral surface of the exhaust pipe.

A chimney section and a chimney system for handling gases is disclosed. The chimney section is rounded but non-circular in cross sectional shape and includes at least one flange on one end of the section body. The chimney section may be formed from a single piece of material, wherein the section body and flange are integrally formed with one another. In the chimney system, the junction between two adjacent chimney sections may consist of a flange interface, which is formed by the adjacent flanges on opposing ends of two adjacent chimney sections. A V-band may be placed over the flange interface to further seal the interior of the chimney sections, and a sealant may be placed in various positions of the chimney system to hermetically seal the interior thereof from the exterior. In another embodiment of the chimney system, insulation is added to create an insulated chimney system.

A joint seal system and method may be configured to mitigate and/or eliminate leakage of pressure, flue gases, condensate, helium vent gas and/or any other fluid, gas, and/or vapor between abutting flanges of duct sections at a flange interface. A weld-free MRI machine quench vent discharge system using pre-fabricated chimney duct components may be configured by selecting a quench vent outlet and discharge location, mapping a route, and determining directional changes. Elbows and bellows sections are selected based on these changes, and the distance between the MRI machine and discharge location is calculated to determine support positions. The system is assembled using prefabricated chimney ducts, each comprising an inner shell with spinner bolt flanges and a leak-free joint with a PTFE gasket. The design includes an outer shell with an insulation gap for thermal protection.
