Valve train
11162603 · 2021-11-02 · ·

A valve actuator (10) includes an electric motor (12) that opens, and also closes if need be, the valve via a gearing (15). A voltage supply device (19) has an input rectifier circuit and a buffer device (24) connected thereto, for example in the form of a capacitor C. From the voltage buffered by the capacitor C, a motor control circuit (25) obtains the energy for operating the electric motor (12). To prevent the valve (11) from being kept open too long after the voltage supply at the input (20) has been switched off, a switch-off device (34) is provided, which, after elimination of the voltage at the input (20), cuts off the energy flow from the voltage buffer device (24) to the electric motor (12).

Quick-disconnect gas pipeline
11162679 · 2021-11-02 · ·

A quick-disconnect gas pipeline comprises a quick-disconnect device (QDD) which comprises a QDD male end and a QDD female end, and a gas hose. The QDD male end is connected to the gas pipeline inside the heating system and the QDD female end is connected to the gas hose outside the heating system. When the heating system is not used, it is easy to disconnect the QDD to prevent people from tripping over the long gas pipeline.

Disaggregation of Gas Load to Determine Meter or Service Under-Sizing
20230273053 · 2023-08-31 ·

Techniques determine if a gas service (e.g., piping and/or meter) is under-sized for the customer's needs. In one example, flowrate information corresponding to gas usage at a service site over a first period of time is obtained. The flowrate information is disaggregated to determine an expected flowrate associated with each of two or more appliances having generally fixed-rates of gas consumption. Flowrate information is again obtained, corresponding to a second period of time. The second flowrate information is compared to one or more combinations (i.e., summations) of the expected flowrates associated with each of the two or more appliances. Based on the comparison, it may be determined that the service site is not appropriately sized. In an example, failure to detect two fixed-rate of gas-consumption appliances operating at their respective fixed-rates at the same time may indicate that the service cannot provide gas at a sufficient flowrate.

Systems and methods for operation of a flexible fuel combustor

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that are useful for controlling one or more aspects of a power production plant. More particularly, the disclosure relates to power production plants and methods of carrying out a power production method utilizing different fuel chemistries. Combustion of the different fuel mixtures can be controlled so that a defined set of combustion characteristics remains substantially constant across a range of different fuel chemistries.

Cooktop appliance and methods of operation

A cooktop appliance includes a first burner and a second burner which are spaced apart with a grate positioned above the burners. The grate includes a first sensor finger with a first temperature sensor over the first burner and a second sensor finger with a second temperature sensor over the second burner. The cooktop appliance also includes a first control valve and a second control valve which selectively direct fuel to the respective burners. A controller of the cooktop appliance is operably coupled to the temperature sensors and the control valves. The controller may be operable for and/or methods of operating the cooktop appliance may include receiving a set temperature, receiving a first temperature measurement from the first temperature sensor and a second temperature measurement from the second temperature sensor, and adjusting each control valve based on the set temperature and the corresponding temperature measurement.

A gas fueled water heater appliance may include a tank for storage of water, a chamber wall, a gas burner, a gas conduit, a support post, and a guide bracket. The chamber wall may define a combustion chamber and a conduit hole. The gas burner may be positioned adjacent to the tank and within the combustion chamber. The gas conduit may extend from the gas burner and through the conduit hole. The support post may be fixed to the gas burner within the combustion chamber. The guide bracket may be mounted within the combustion chamber and define a mounting point. The guide bracket may be in selective engagement with the support post at the mounting point. The guide bracket may include a pair of lateral arms extending outward from the mounting point toward the chamber wall to guide the support post to the mounting point.

A gas burner may include a burner body, a first gas orifice, a second gas orifice, a mixed outlet nozzle, an injet body, a gas supply line, a secondary gas line, and a flow sensor. The first gas orifice may be directed towards a plurality of naturally aspirated flame ports. The second gas orifice may be spaced apart from the first gas orifice. The mixed outlet nozzle may be downstream from the second gas orifice and directed towards a plurality of forced induction flame ports. The injet body may define an air passage and a mixing chamber downstream from the air passage. The gas supply line may be mounted on the injet body. The secondary gas line may extend in fluid parallel to the first gas orifice. The flow sensor may be positioned in fluid communication with the secondary gas line to detect a flow rate of gaseous fuel therethrough.
