THERMOELECTRIC SAFETY ASSEMBLY
A thermoelectric safety assembly that includes a thermocouple configured to detect a flame in a burner and, in response to detecting the flame, generating an electrical voltage. The assembly includes an electromagnetic valve electrically connected to the thermocouple, and a transistor electrically connected between the thermocouple and the electromagnetic valve. The electromagnetic valve is arranged electrically connected with a field-effect transistor. The assembly also includes a voltage booster configured to power the transistor, the transistor being connected in parallel with the voltage booster. An output terminal of the voltage booster is arranged connected with a gate terminal of the transistor, the voltage booster being configured to boost the electrical voltage generated in the thermocouple, an electrical voltage being obtained that is capable of keeping the transistor closed such that the electromagnetic valve is energized.
Cooking appliance with programmable zone profiles
A temperature display and/or control system is disclosed for a cooing apparatus, such as a grill, comprising a plurality of individual zones to provide individual zone temperatures. Each zone of the grill is associated with a temperature sensor, such as a thermocouple, and a visual indicator to indicate the zone temperature, such as control knob bearing a multi-color LED. A controller obtains a signal from the temperature sensor indicating a raw temperature and converts the raw temperature to an actual zone temperature based on a temperature profile selected for the zone. The temperature profile is configurable for each zone based on a configuration of the zone in order to maintain an accurate temperature conversion despite alterations to an environment.
GAS APPLIANCE AND A CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A gas appliance comprises a combustion device, an ignitor, a gas valve, a blower, a detecting device, and a control device. A control method thereof comprises: the control device is operated in a detection mode in which the control device controls the ignitor to ignite and controls the gas valve as well as the blower to provide a fixed gas flow and a fixed air flow to the combustion device. After igniting the flames, the control device determines burning states detected by the detecting device; if matching a first state, the control device controls the gas valve and the blower in correspondence to a first control data of the first natural gas; if matching the second state, the control device controls the gas valve and the blower in correspondence to a second control data of the second natural gas. In this way, the gas appliance is suitable for burning natural gas generating various heating values.

Grill with cold smoke grilling modes
A grilling device includes an auger feeder system, a heating element, a blower and a temperature control system. The temperature control system includes at least a first temperature sensor inside the firepot and a second temperature sensor inside a cooking chamber above the firepot. The heating element can also serve as the first temperature sensor. A method for controlling the temperature of the grill can include receiving temperature feedback information from one or more of the temperature sensors and adjusting power provided to the auger feeder system, heating element, and blower. The temperature control system produces cold smoke resulting from the combustion of lignin in solid wood fuel while minimizing temperatures inside the cooking chamber.
Closed-loop simmer with a gas burner
A method of operating a cooktop appliance includes inputting a temperature measurement and a set temperature into a closed-loop control algorithm. When the output of the closed-loop control algorithm is less than a power level threshold, a first control valve to a gas burner of the cooktop appliance is closed.

Method and system for auto-adjusting an active range of a gas cooking appliance
A cooking appliance includes a gas cooking element, an electromechanical valve fluidly coupled with the gas cooking element to regulate a flow of gas to the cooking element, a flame detector configured to detect an active state of a flame for the gas cooking element, a manually-actuated user control movable over a range of positions, and a controller coupled to the electromechanical valve, the flame detector, and the manually-actuated user control. The controller is configured to initiate a calibration process to determine an active range for the gas cooking element.
Control system and method for a solid fuel combustion appliance
A control system for a solid fuel combustion appliance, e.g., a wood burning stove, includes a temperature sensor for sensing an output temperature of the appliance. A controller receives the output temperature and controls a damper associated with air flow through the stove to maintain a predetermined temperature. The system also includes a detector that senses certain conditions of the solid fuel, e.g., wood, that is burned by the stove. When additional fuel is added to the appliance, the system temporarily encourages initial combustion of the new fuel, before returning to maintaining the predetermined temperature.
