GAS COOKING APPLIANCE

According to some embodiments gas cooking appliances are provided that include at least one burner, an electrode, and a push button unit with a push button for activating the electrode. A gas valve is provided for each burner for regulating gas flow arriving from a gas conduit. An electromagnetic shut-off valve is arranged in the gas conduit and includes a closure member for closing the passage of gas. A control unit controls the shut-off valve. The closure member includes a stable closed position and a stable open position, the closure member changing position upon receiving electric current pulses. The push button unit is configured for pushing the closure member of the shut-off valve to the open position while at the same time activating the control unit and the electrode when the push button is pressed when the gas cooking appliance off. The control unit controls the shut-off valve by means of electric current pulses once the push button has been pressed.

A time-set accessory, including: a knob, being shaped complementary to a lever of a gas stove, for allowing manual rotation of the lever, for selecting a dispensing extent of the gas stove; an anchor, for anchoring the body of the time-set accessory to the body of the gas stove, thereby rotation of the knob about the time-set accessory's body, rotates the lever about the gas stove's body; and a timer, for manually setting a time, and for further automatically rotating the knob about the time-set accessory's body upon termination of the time, thereby rotating the lever about the gas stove's body.

Minimum ignition period for gas burners

A cooking appliance includes: a gas cooking element; an igniter disposed adjacent to the gas cooking element to ignite the gas cooking element; a gas valve for regulating gas flow to the gas cooking element; a burner control mechanically coupled to the gas valve to vary the gas flow to the gas cooking element; a sensor for detecting the positioning of the burner control in an ignition range of positions; and a control circuit coupled to the igniter and the sensor and to activate the igniter in response to detected movement of the burner control into the ignition range of positions, the control circuit further configured to maintain activation of the igniter for a predetermined minimum length of time once activated.

A gas meter includes a flow rate measuring part configured to measure a flow rate of gas flowing through a flow passage, a shutoff valve configured to shut off the flow passage, a wireless communicator configured to periodically perform wireless communication externally, and a communication interval setting part configured to set a communication interval in the wireless communication. The communication interval setting part is configured to set the communication interval according to the flow rate of gas measured by flow rate measuring part.

Digital gas valve burner control systems and methods

A system for controlling digital gas valves of an appliance utilizing a configurable duty cycle that includes a configurable ON time, a configurable cycle period and one or more configurable burner power level variables. In some instances, the configurable duty cycle may be configured at least in part by operation of a control knob, and in some instances, multiple burner power levels may be specified such that cycling may be performed between multiple burner power levels.
