COMBUSTION AIR PROVING APPARATUS WITH BURNER CUT-OFF CAPABILITY AND METHOD OF PERFORMING THE SAME
20220357037 · 2022-11-10 ·

A combustion air proving (CAP) system for a burner assembly having a burner for providing heated air to a location, a controller, and a back plate, where outside air is fed to the burner via a conduit. The CAP system is connected to an inlet of the system. An outlet of the system is connected to the burner via the back plate. A damper within the system is translatable between open and closed positions for allowing and blocking air flow, respectively. A sensor measures an air flow parameter of air flow to the burner. The sensor communicates with the controller, which shuts down the burner if the parameter measured by the sensor meets a predetermined threshold value. An assembly installer may test for proper sensor and controller functions by translating the damper to the closed position and blocking outside air flow.

Chemically heated hot emitter generator system

The technical field includes machine, manufacture, process, and product produced thereby, as well as necessary intermediates, which pertain to power sources, units thereof, computer systems used to facilitate operation of one or more power sources.

Method of and system for flame sensing and diagnostic
09803889 · 2017-10-31 · ·

A method of determining presence of a flame in a furnace of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The method comprises determining, using a controller, whether a processor signal (G) is active, responsive to a determination that the processor signal (G) is active, determining, using the controller prior to assertion of a flame-test input control signal, an output state of a first comparator, responsive to a determination that the output state of the first comparator is high, determining, using the controller prior to assertion of the flame-test input control signal, an output state of a second comparator, and responsive to a determination that the output state of the second comparator is low, transmitting, using the controller, a notification that a flame is present.

Automatic heat-source shut-down system for cooking stoves
09803872 · 2017-10-31 ·

The invention is an automatic heat-source shut-off system for cooking stoves. When a burner's flame is turned on, or an electric stove's heating element is turned on, the invention begins a timed sequence that upon expiring causes the heat-source control shaft to be returned to the heat-off position.

Gas cooking appliance with ignition position indicator

A cooking appliance and method generate an audible and/or visual indication to a user when a user control for a gas burner is in a position within which an igniter is active and a gas valve is supplying sufficient gas flow to the gas burner to support ignition and thereby assist a user in properly positioning the user control during ignition of the burner.
