20190323709 · 2019-10-24 ·

A torch with integral flashback arrestor and thermal shut-off device is provided. In one approach, a torch body includes a passageway of the torch body, and a cartridge assembly disposed within the passageway. The cartridge assembly may include at least one of: a resettable pressure-sensitive device, and a thermal shut-off device, wherein the pressure-sensitive device and the thermal shut-off device are modifiable from a first configuration to a second configuration in response to a pressure or temperature gradient in the torch body, and wherein the second configuration restricts flow through the passageway. The cartridge may further include a check valve disposed along the passageway, for example, within a bore of a bushing, or within a retainer coupled to the torch body at an inlet of the passageway.

Self-extinguishing torch

A self-extinguishing torch top has a wick holder with an upper end and a lower end, affixed to a fuel canister top. An extinguisher surrounds the wick holder and has at least a retracted position wherein a wick protruding from the wick holder is sufficiently exposed to be allowed to burn, and at least an extended position wherein the extinguisher extends beyond the wick so far as to extinguish any flame on the wick. A biasing member urges the sliding tube toward the extended position, and an arrest mechanism retains the sliding tube in the retracted position until an impact occurs, upon which the arrest mechanism releases the sliding tube to allow its extension to the extended position.

Gas valve assembly with integrated pressure regulator

A gas valve assembly with integrated pressure regulator is provided. The gas valve assembly includes a pressure regulator and a gas valve module. The pressure regulator and gas valve modules each include cast housing bodies. The cast housing bodies have cast in mounting holes and assembly features that allow for the assembly of the gas valve assembly without secondary machining operations.

Systems and methods for control of combustion dynamics in combustion system

The present disclosure generally relates to a system with a gas turbine engine. The gas turbine engine includes a first combustor having a first fuel injector and a second combustor having a second fuel injector. The gas turbine engine further includes a first fuel conduit extending from a first orifice to a first fuel outlet of the first fuel injector. The first fuel conduit has a first acoustic volume between the first orifice and the first fuel outlet. The gas turbine engine further includes a second fuel conduit extending from a second orifice to a second fuel outlet of the second fuel injector. The second fuel conduit has a second acoustic volume between the second orifice and the second fuel outlet, and the first acoustic volume and the second acoustic volume are different from one another.

GAS CUT-OFF ASSEMBLY FOR GAS HEATER
20180172281 · 2018-06-21 ·

A gas cut-off assembly for a gas heater includes a top part and a bottom part, and a middle part is connected between the top and bottom parts. The top part is connected with a valve connected to a burner. The bottom part is connected to the gas source. The middle part has a flange through which a central hole is defined. A ball is movably received between the top part and the middle part. A plunge movably extends through the central hole to push the ball which is pushed upward to open the central hole to allow gas to pass and flow to the burner. When the heater is titled, the ball rolls aside and the plunge is pushed by a resilient unit to seal the central hole to cut off the supply of the gas.

Pressure relief valve with rotating damper

A combustible gas burner includes gas flow conduit or a housing having an outlet and a pressure relief valve. The pressure relief valve includes a valve seat at the outlet, a valve body and a valve body rotator. The valve body is configured to engage the valve seat and move along an axis relative to the valve seat in response to a pressure at the outlet. The valve body rotator is configured to rotate the valve body about the axis in response to movement of the valve body along the axis relative to the valve seat.

COMBUSTION DEVICE TEST APPARATUS AND METHOD

A combustion device test apparatus including a combustion device, a holding station configured to hold the combustion device, a fuel supply conduit, and a pressure wave fuse coupling the fuel supply conduit to the combustion device, the pressure wave fuse being frictionally coupled to one or more of the combustion device and the fuel supply conduit at a frictional coupling such that the pressure wave fuse is configured to disengage one or more of the combustion device and the fuel supply conduit at the frictional coupling upon traversal of a flame front pressure wave through the pressure wave fuse.

Gas turbine having fuel monitoring

The invention relates to a method for detecting a fuel leakage in the fuel distribution system between a fuel control valve and at least one burner of a gas turbine during the operation of the gas turbine. In order to detect a fuel leakage, the fuel consumption is approximated in accordance with the mechanical power of the gas turbine, the fuel amount fed to the fuel distribution system is determined, and the leakage flow is determined from the difference between the fed fuel amount and the fuel consumption. The invention further relates to a gas turbine for performing such a method.
