The disclosed technology can include a method and system that includes an air inlet, an air filter for filtering particles from air passing through the air inlet, an air moving device, a fuel valve, a burner, a pressure sensor, and a controller in communication with the pressure sensor and configured to output an alarm signal when the controller receives differential pressure data from the pressure sensor that indicates that the air filter is obstructed.

System and approach for controlling a combustion chamber

A system for controlling activity in a combustion chamber. The system does not necessarily need to be mechanically adjusted and yet may provide precise control of a fuel air mixture ratio. A sensing module of the system may have a mass flow sensor that relates to air flow and another sensor that relates to fuel flow. Neither sensor may need contact with fuel. Fuel and air to the system may be controlled. Pressure of the fuel and/or air may be regulated. The sensors may provide signals to a processor to indicate a state of the fuel and air in the system. The processor, with reliance on a programmed curve, table or the like, often based on data, in a storage memory, may regulate the flow or pressure of the fuel and air in a parallel fashion to provide an appropriate fuel-air mixture to the combustion chamber.

Systems and methods for reducing NO.sub.x and CO emissions in a natural draft heater are disclosed. For example, the disclosure provides embodiments of systems and methods for controlling a draft value within a heater shell to deliver an amount of excess air to a burner to thereby maintain at least one of NO.sub.x emissions not exceeding 0.025 lb/MMBtu (HHV) and CO emissions not exceeding 0.01 lb/MMBtu (HHV) in a natural draft heater.

METHOD FOR REGULATING A HEATING DEVICE AND HEATING DEVICE

Methods for regulating a heating device, which includes a combustion chamber, into which combustion air is introduced via a controllable blower. An operating variable and a speed of the blower are measured. An operating coefficient is determined on the basis of the measured operating variable and the measured speed. A volume flow coefficient is determined on the basis of reference values for the operating coefficient. A volume flow of the combustion air being determined on the basis of the volume flow coefficient. A calibration of the reference values is carried out for the operating coefficient.

Flow measurement system

The present invention relates to a flow measurement system for controlling a gas fireplace (1) comprising a flow passage (11) in fluid communication with the gas fireplace by use of a differential pressure pressostat (13). A first gauge connector (14) is in the flow passage and connected to a first pressure sensor in the differential pressure pressostat for measuring a total pressure in a fluid flowing in the flow passage. A second gauge connector (15) is arranged near the first gauge connector and connected to a second pressure sensor in the differential pressure pressostat for measuring a static pressure in the fluid flowing in the flow passage. Based on these measures a dynamic pressure, and there from the flow velocity, in the fluid flowing in the flow passage is determined and used to switch off the gas fireplace, when the flow becomes below a set threshold value.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BURNER IGNITION USING SENSORLESS CONSTANT MASS FLOW DRAFT INDUCERS

A motor controller for a burner system includes an inverter that supplies current to a motor that rotates a draft inducer fan. A processor is coupled to the inverter and receives a signal from a system controller, and in response instructs the inverter to supply a first current, during a first period, to the motor to rotate the fan to produce a first mass flow through the burner system, the first mass flow having a first mass flow rate greater than a threshold to actuate a vacuum switch. The processor then instructs the inverter to supply a second current, during a second period starting at an expiration of the first period, to the motor to rotate the fan to produce a second mass flow through the burner system, the second mass flow having a target mass flow rate for normal operation of the burner.
