Dynamically Adjusting Heater
Apparatus and methods for a gas furnace are disclosed. The gas furnace includes a variable combustion control which monitors the temperature of the burner and modifies one of the amount of combustion air supplied and the amount of gas fuel supplied to the mixing chamber. The described systems can dynamically accommodate differences in air quality and gas fuel supply to provide an optimum BTU output irrespective of differences in geographic location of usage. The gas furnace can include a dynamic response unit which predicts an optimum rate of heating to maintain a target room temperature, thereby preventing unnecessary shut down and costly re-ignition sequences, and maintaining the gas furnace at an optimum BTU output level.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF DETECTING AN OBSTRUCTED FURNACE AIR FILTER USING A FLAME SENSOR
The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for detecting an at least partially obstructed air filter in a furnace. The disclosed technology can include a system and method that can receive temperature data from a flame sensor configured to detect a temperature of a flame in a burner, determine that an air filter associated with the burner is at least partially obstructed by determining that the temperature data indicates the flame temperature is greater than or equal to a threshold temperature, and output an alarm signal indicating that the air filter is at least partially obstructed.
AIR ASSISTED ENCLOSED COMBUSTION DEVICE
Air Assisted Enclosed Combustion Devices (AAECD) and methods are disclosed that provide maximum destruction efficiency of VOC's and methane greenhouse gases produced by oil production, site processing, storage, and transmission operations and produces no visible emission (smoke, soot, particulates) in the process. An exemplary AAECD may include a housing with an outer housing and a burner housing separated by an air gap. The AAECD is provided with a burner assembly, a blower assembly, and a suite of sensors in communication with an electronic control module having logic configured to receive input signals from the sensors, calculate an actual fuel-air ratio using the received input signals, compare the actual fuel-air ratio to a fuel-air ratio setpoint, and adjust a position of a throttle valve to control a rate and volume of air from a blower motor to the burner if the actual fuel-air ratio and the fuel-air ratio setpoint are different.
CONTROL METHOD FOR A CATALYTIC COMBUSTION APPARATUS AND A CATALYTIC COMBUSTION SYSTEM
A method for controlling a catalytic combustion apparatus having a heater capable of heating fuel to be supplied to a catalyst includes a step of supplying oxidant gas to the catalytic combustion apparatus, and an injection step of injecting the fuel into the catalytic combustion apparatus. The injection step also includes an electric power feeding step of supplying electric power to the heater, and a setting step of setting an injection amount of the fuel to be injected into the catalytic combustion apparatus in response to output of the heater.
Boosted gas burner assembly with temperature compensation and low pressure cut-off
A gas burner assembly and a method of operating the same are provided. The gas burner assembly includes an air pump that supplies a flow of air into a boost fuel chamber for mixing with a flow of boost fuel before being combusted and directed through a plurality of boost flame ports. A temperature sensor is positioned proximate the air pump and a controller regulates the power supplied to the air pump to compensate for air pump operating characteristics based on the measured temperature. A pressure sensor may also detect a low pressure condition downstream of the air pump and shut down the fuel and air supply system accordingly.
IGNITION SYSTEM
A system including a burner configured to be coupled to a fuel line to deliver fuel to the burner and an igniter positioned adjacent to the burner and configured to ignite fuel emitted by the burner. The system further includes a valve configured to control a flow of fuel through the fuel line and a control module operably coupled to the igniter and to the valve. The control module is configured to send a signal to the igniter and to close the valve if a quality of a return electrical signal from the igniter is below a predetermined value.
Method, System and Temperature Control of a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Unit
A control assembly for controlling an HVAC unit, and method of controlling an HVAC unit, the HVAC unit having a burner assembly and at least one of a blower, an inducer fan, an air/fuel control system, the method including: measuring a temperature of the burner assembly; comparing the measured temperature of the burner assembly with a predetermined temperature based on firing rate; controlling the HVAC unit to cause the temperature of the burner assembly to come within predetermined limits; wherein the controlling step includes at least one of the steps of: initiating, terminating or modifying, the operation of one or more of the blower, the inducer fan, or modifying an air/fuel mixture of the air/fuel control system, reducing the temperature of the burner assembly to within predetermined limits.
CLOSED-LOOP SIMMER WITH A GAS BURNER
A method of operating a cooktop appliance includes inputting a temperature measurement and a set temperature into a closed-loop control algorithm. When the output of the closed-loop control algorithm is less than a power level threshold, a first control valve to a gas burner of the cooktop appliance is closed.
VALVE ARRANGEMENT FOR A GAS BURNER
According to one embodiment a valve arrangement for a gas burner is provided that includes a manual gas valve with a manual actuator for opening or closing the gas flow, and an electromagnetic valve having a movable closure member which allows opening or closing a gas passage to the burner. The electromagnetic valve is arranged in the gas valve, with the manual actuator being coupled to a rotary flow regulating element, the manual actuator being configured in order to move the closure member of the electromagnetic valve, opening the gas passage, the manual gas valve including a reduced gas flow channel which puts the inlet conduit in fluid communication with the regulating element regardless of the position of the closure member.
Main nozzle, combustor, and method for manufacturing main nozzle
The present invention provides a main nozzle of a combustor, a plurality of the main nozzles are to be installed on an outer peripheral side of a pilot nozzle of the combustor at an interval in a circumferential direction of the pilot nozzle, the main nozzle includes a main nozzle body extending in an axial line; a swirl vane protruded from an outer peripheral surface of the main nozzle body in a radial direction of the axial line, and is configured to allow a fluid flowing downstream in a direction of the axial line to swirl around the axial line; and temperature sensors installed on the main nozzle body so as to be disposed on a tangential line to a mean line of the swirl vane drawn between a vane ventral surface and a vane dorsal surface of the swirl vane, at a downstream end portion of the swirl vane.
