Combustion blower control for modulating furnace
A furnace includes a combustion blower and one or more pressure switches. In some cases, the one or more pressure switches may be used to calculate one or more operating points for the combustion blower. Additional operating points may be calculated by interpolation and/or extrapolation, as appropriate. The furnace may temporarily alter these operating points as necessary to keep the furnace safely operating in response to minor and/or transient changes in the operating conditions of the furnace.
Detecting Blockage Of A Duct
The present disclosure deals with the detection of a blockage in the air-supply duct or flue of a burner assembly. In some embodiments, a method or system may detect blockages in the form of coverings and with burner assemblies to burn fossil fuels. For example, a control device may generate: a first air-control signal; a fuel-control signal by adjusting the actual values of the ionization current to the ionization-current setpoint; a setpoint increased by a specified amount from the ionization-current setpoint; and a changed fuel-control signal by adjusting the actual values of the ionization current to the increased setpoint in the case of a first air-control signal. The control device may evaluate the changed fuel-control signal generated based on the increased setpoint by comparing it with a specified maximum value and based on the evaluation, to detect a blockage. The control device may recognize the blockage based on the evaluation if the fuel-control signal generated using the increased setpoint exceeds the specified maximum value.
Method and Controller for Operating a Gas Burner Appliance
Method for operating a gas burner appliance (10), the gas burner appliance (10) comprising: a combustion chamber (11), a mixing device (23), a fan (14), a gas safety valve unit (19) assigned to the gas duct (16) having a first gas safety valve (19a) and a second gas safety valve (19b) positioned downstream of the first gas safety valve (19a), a gas flow modulator (18) assigned to the gas duct (16), and an electrical or electronic absolute pressure sensor (21) assigned to the gas duct (16) positioned downstream of the first gas safety valve (19a). The gas burner appliance (10) is operated to compensate for a fluctuating gas inlet pressure of the gas burner appliance by executing the following steps: Measure a first absolute pressure by the absolute pressure sensor (21) when at least the first gas safety valve (19a) of the gas safety valve unit (19) is closed. Measure a second absolute pressure by the absolute pressure sensor (21) when the gas safety valve unit (19) is opened. Determine a pressure difference between the first absolute pressure or a pressure depending on the first absolute pressure and the second absolute pressure or a pressure depending on the second absolute pressure. Operate the gas flow modulator (18) dependent from said pressure difference.
Fluid fuel heater to heat air and a method for operating said heater
A movable fluid fuel heater to heat air and to introduce it into an environment to be heated. The heater includes a flow rate variator device for varying the flow rate of oxidizing air introduced in the combustion chamber by a forced ventilation device between a minimum flow rate value and a maximum flow rate value. The heater also includes a reference device comprising a plurality of reference values of a parameter representative of the pressure and a plurality of reference temperature values of the environmental air upstream of the combustion chamber. The reference device is configured to suggest an optimal setting value to set the flow rate variator device, at each pair of values formed by a value of the plurality of reference values of a parameter representative of the pressure and a value of the plurality of reference temperature values.
Power generation system and method of operating the same
A power generation system according to the present invention includes: a fuel cell unit including a fuel cell, a hydrogen generator having a first combustor, and a case; a controller; a combustion unit including a second combustor; and a discharge passage formed to cause the case and the combustion unit to communicate with each other. In a case where the controller causes one of the first combustor and the second combustor to perform the ignition operation, the controller maintains an operating state of the other combustor during the period of the ignition operation of the one combustor.
Blower motor for HVAC systems
A blower motor assembly having a variable speed motor that is suitable for replacing a PSC motor in a residential HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system. The blower motor assembly includes a variable speed motor and motor controller; a first power input for receiving a plurality of AC power signals from a control device for use in determining an operating parameter for the motor; and a second power input for receiving AC power from an AC power source for powering the motor controller even when no AC power signals are received by the first power input.
