A device for controlling a combustible gas supply to a heating apparatus burner includes: a valve with a respective valve seat which is associated with a corresponding closure member provided with a respective control rod for opening the valve seat, a system for amplifying movement of the control rod which has a snap-fit spring which acts on the rod and a pushing element which in turn acts on the spring, a first end of a lever acts on the pushing element which is hinged at a fulcrum location which is positioned at an opposing second end of the lever, actuator which moves the lever, operationally associated with the lever in a position between the opposing lever ends to control the lever about the fulcrum location resulting in movement of the closure member away from and towards the valve seat, the actuator comprising a linear actuator element with converse piezoelectric effect.

Electromagnetic gas valve with a gas inlet, a gas outlet, and a closure member that is displaceable between an opening position and a closing position. A maximum flow is supplied through the gas outlet with the closure member in the open position and a minimum flow being supplied with the closure member in the closed position. The valve includes a main fluid channel with a closure hole through which the maximum flow is supplied to the gas outlet. The closure member includes a secondary fluid channel calibrated for the minimum flow to pass therethrough, such that the closure member in the closed position covers the closure hole and allows the passage of gas through the secondary fluid channel.

A knob assembly and an appliance having a knob assembly are provided. The knob assembly may include a knob configured to be rotatably installed, a knob ring configured to surround the knob and to be rotated independently from the knob, a spring configured to provide an elastic force so as to return the knob ring toward an initial position when the knob ring is rotated to a position spaced apart from the initial position, and a magnetic force provider configured to provide a magnetic force to return the knob ring to the initial position when the knob ring is at a position adjacent to the initial position.

A heating system can include certain pressure sensitive features. These features can be configured to change from a first position to a second position based on a pressure of a fuel flowing into the feature. These features can include, fuel selector valves, pressure regulators, burner nozzles, and oxygen depletion sensor nozzles, among other features.

A shut-off valve that according to one implementation comprises an inlet, an outlet, an intermediate orifice for communicating the outlet with the inlet, a closure member that closes the intermediate orifice in a closing position and prevents said communication and not preventing said communication in an opening position, and an electromagnetic actuator to cause the closure member to change position. The electromagnetic actuator comprises a static armature, a static permanent magnet and a movable element attached to the closure member. The movable element comprises a bobbin associated with the armature with freedom of movement and a coil wound around and attached to the bobbin, cooperating with the permanent magnet depending on its power supply to cause the closure member to change position.

A heating apparatus may include a control valve assembly. A control valve assembly can have a housing and a valve body positioned within the housing. The housing can define an inlet and first and second outlets. The control valve assembly can also include an igniter having a sensor for firing an electrode. An extension can be used to activate the sensor and to thereby activate the igniter.
