Waterproof lighter case
10222063 · 2019-03-05 · ·

A case for a lighter including a removable cap and elongated body sleeve is described herein. Placing the cap on the elongated body sleeve creates a waterproof seal that protects the components of the lighter inside of the case and prevents exposure of the lighter to moisture that may damage components or prevent proper functioning of the lighter. The case can prevent inadvertent activation of the gas button and can also provide a gas lock strap for selectively activating and maintaining activation of the gas button. The case and cap can include features for increasing grip on the lighter as well as removably coupling the case to a lanyard, key ring, or other means of retention.

CIGAR TUBE

A cigar tube is provided having an ash catcher and an ash collection cap, for receiving and containing lit or extinguished cigars for later consumption an elongated tubular member having opposite first and second ends and defining a hollow inner cavity disposed between the first and second ends adapted to receive and contain a cigar. The ash catcher is disposed within the inner cavity and has a generally planar body positioned transverse to the tubular member and has a plurality of apertures. A plurality of truncated cones project from the planar body such that each truncated cone preferably aligns with each respective aperture to provide substantially unidirectional ash passageways from the inner cavity to the ash collection cap. In a preferred embodiment, the truncated cones are characterized as having a length sufficient to provide air space between the cones and the ash collection cap for the collection of ashes and dissipation of heat. In one embodiment, a blade is attached to an interior surface of the tubular member and configured to slice longitudinally through an outer sheath of the cigar when inserted through said opening into the inner cavity.

An apparatus according to an embodiment includes a casing that has a first side portion, a second side portion opposite the first side portion, and an interior chamber therebetween. The casing is made from a first burnable material. A second burnable material is disposed in the interior chamber. An igniter is disposed in the interior chamber and is configured to generate a first thermal event to ignite the second burnable material that, during combustion, causes a second thermal event that ignites the first burnable material. A safety tab is removably coupled to the igniter. The safety tab is configured to prevent generation of the first thermal event when the safety tab is coupled to the igniter, and to allow generation of the first thermal event when the safety tab is removed from the igniter. An actuator coupled to the igniter is configured to activate the igniter to generate the first thermal event.

A lighter having a main fuel containment housing body and a forward hinged lid with a closed position and an open position, the open position providing access to the flame generator assembly. The flame generator assembly providing a wind shield with a flame outlet that, when the lighter is in an operation orientation, is directed upwardly and in a direction generally perpendicular to the major dimension of the lighter in the closed position. The windshield having dimples with apertures extending outwardly for reducing wind while providing oxygen. The lighter may have a forward sleeve with a closeable lid, the sleeve extending around the four sides of the housing and slidable on the fuel containment housing. An actuation portion effects a transition from the closed position to an operational position, opening the lid and sliding the sleeve downwardly exposing the flame generation system out of an opening in the sleeve.

A lighter includes a lighter body having a fuel reservoir with a fuel-releasing valve, and an assembly such as a piezoelectric system, an electric system or system having a friction wheel rotatable by a user to produce sparks directed to the fuel released by the valve. The friction wheel assembly is mounted on the lighter body such that at least part of the friction wheel is exposed to be handled and rotated by the user. A valve actuator is depressible to actuate the valve and release the fuel. A protective element is mounted on the lighter body and consists of multiple layers. The protective element has a thickness ranging from 25-200 m and includes an outer protective film formed by a plastic film coated with an aliphatic polyurethane layer having a thickness ranging from 10-75 containing between 30 and 100% solids, depending on the required degree of smoothness.
