Methods for improving simulation of a sporting event by using real-world data are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving player positional data and ball positional data. The player positional data includes an identification of a player, orientation of the player on a field, position of the player on the field, and a time the player positional data was captured. The ball positional data includes a location of the ball on the field, and a time the ball positional data was captured. A simulated player and a simulated ball are positioned on a simulated field corresponding to the field, based on the received data. The simulation is run and accordingly modified based on user input. Video game controller using core muscles and other applications
A wearable device has a core contraction sensor and a movement sensor which transmits signals to a processor which analyzes the signals and uses the data to control aspects of a video game. The core contraction signal may determine if the user's core is contracted or relaxed. A video game may be used with the wearable device to encourage usage of the core muscles with the player getting points or rewards for engaging their core muscles and properly timing the engagement of the core muscles with body movements. The wearable device may be used in place of, or together with conventional video game control devices. Developing the habit of using the core muscles during may be beneficial in back pain rehab and prevention, fitness training and wellness, athletic performance improvement, and reducing workplace injuries in occupations involving heavy lifting.

The methods comprise: running code on the computing device to facilitate lower extremity tracking in a low light condition and the provision of the DHP game having a virtual environment in which a person is to interact with at least one virtual object; using the code to obtain tracked data defining tracked movements of at least the person's lower extremities as the person plays the DHP game in the low light condition; increasing an accuracy of at least position data contained in the tracked data by performing coarse filtering operations and fine filtering operations using the position data; and recreating the person's lower extremity movement in the virtual environment using the position data which has been coarse and fine filtered.

A load sensing device for use with an exercise band is disclosed. The load sensing device comprises a band of resilient material, a load sensor attached to the band and configured to measure an extension force applied to the band, and an electronic circuit configured to measure the applied extension force and to wirelessly transmit a signal representative of the applied extension force to a receiver. The band of resilient material protects the load sensor and the electronic circuit from damage by at least partially surrounding them.
