The invention relates to an air/fuel injection system for a turbomachine, comprising: —an injector comprising a duct and an injection nose, arranged inside said duct, which extends from upstream to downstream along a longitudinal axis; —a mixer device comprising a bowl comprising an annular inlet, forming the inlet of the mixer device, from which there extends a conical portion flared in the downstream direction, said mixer device being arranged downstream of the injection nose; the injection system being characterized in that the injector comprises an air-injection annulus extending from the duct and from which there extends a connection ring comprising a divergent portion, said ring being arranged externally around the annular inlet of the mixer device.
BRAZING USING LOCALIZED HEATING
A method comprising applying braze to a joint location of two work pieces and applying local heating to the joint location of the two work pieces until braze melting temperature is achieved to melt the braze while maintaining temperature of more remote portions of each work piece. The method includes reducing heating of the braze to form a braze joint joining the joint location of the two work pieces.
CONNECTING FUEL INJECTORS AND NOZZLES TO MANIFOLDS
A method includes joining a fuel plurality of injection components to a fuel manifold, wherein for each fuel injection component in the plurality of fuel injection components, a metallic joint is formed joining and sealing the fuel injection component to the manifold. A system includes a fuel manifold. A plurality of fuel injection components are connected in fluid communication with the fuel manifold with metallic joints sealing between each of the plurality of fuel injection components and the fuel manifold to prevent leakage from between the manifold and the plurality of fuel injection components.
COMBUSTOR NOZZLE, COMBUSTOR, AND GAS TURBINE INCLUDING SAME
A combustor nozzle, a combustor, and a gas turbine including the same are provided. The combustor nozzle includes a nozzle module. The nozzle module includes a central tube having an air flow path, through which air flows from a front-to-rear direction, and an opening hole at a rear end thereof, a shroud into which at least a part of the central tube is inserted, and having an air inlet at a front end thereof, wherein a mixing flow path is formed between the shroud and the central tube so that the air and injected fuel flow therethrough, and a plurality of cooling channels, each of the plurality of cooling channels extending rearward from an inlet communicating with the air flow path to an outlet communicating with the mixing flow path while passing through a sidewall portion of the central tube.
Fuel injectors with heat exchangers
A method of producing compressed air for use onboard an aircraft includes receiving compressor discharge air into an air channel of a fuel injector. The method also includes cooling the compressor discharge air within the air channel by heat exchange with fuel flowing in the fuel injector, and issuing cooled air from the internal air channel out of an engine case as a source of compressed air.
Fuel supply nozzle unit having sealing structure
A fuel supply nozzle unit includes a fuel supply nozzle, a rear end and an end plate. The fuel supply nozzle includes a front end that has a plurality of fuel supply holes. The rear end extends from the front end and is formed with a threaded portion on its outer surface. The end plate is connected to the rear end and is formed with a plurality of threaded holes.
Heat shielding for internal fuel manifolds
A fuel injector system includes an outer support and an inner support, with a feed arm extending radially between the inner support and the outer support. A plurality of outlet openings extend in an axial direction from the feed arm for feeding respective injection nozzles. The outer support and feed arm define a plurality of fuel passages therethrough to convey fluid from an external source through the outer support and feed arm to the outlet openings. A heat shield extends around the feed arm from the outer support to the inner support. The heat shield is spaced apart from the feed arm with an insulative gap therebetween.
Pilot burner for combustor
A pilot burner for a combustor includes an inner conduit configured to deliver a fuel, and an outer conduit concentric with the inner conduit and configured to deliver air. An inner wall defines an inner plenum, and a partition wall is radially outward of the inner wall and defines an intermediate plenum with at least a portion of the inner wall. Exit passages fluidly couple the inner plenum to the intermediate plenum. An outer wall defines an outer plenum with at least a portion of the partition wall. A crossover section includes passages fluidly coupling the inner conduit to the outer plenum, and passages fluidly coupling the outer conduit to the inner plenum. An end plate includes openings to direct fuel, air for combustion, and air for cooling from the respective plenums.
FUEL NOZZLE TIP HAVING IMPROVED DURABILITY
A fuel nozzle includes a center body that extends from an upstream end to a downstream end. A nozzle tip, which is fixedly coupled to the downstream end of the center body, includes an outer annular wall that has a forward end and an aft end. A solid aft wall is disposed at the aft end of the outer annular wall. The solid aft wall and the outer annular wall at least partially define a plenum. A nozzle portion, which is disposed within the plenum, includes an inner annular wall and an impingement wall. The impingement wall is spaced apart from the solid aft wall and defines a plurality of apertures configured to direct fluid to impinge upon the solid aft wall. A plurality of outlets is defined in the outer annular wall forward of the solid aft wall to direct post-impingement fluid from the nozzle tip.
