A gas fired infrared burner includes a burner body with a primary inlet for gaseous fuel and air, the burner body defining a primary premixing chamber for receiving gaseous fuel and air from the primary inlet. An emitter arrangement is configured and positioned such that gaseous fuel and air flows through the emitter arrangement to be combusted at an external surface of the emitter arrangement. The burner body includes an auxiliary inlet for gaseous fuel and air, and the burner body defines an auxiliary premixing chamber for receiving gaseous fuel and air from the auxiliary inlet. The emitter arrangement includes an auxiliary emitter segment that receives gaseous fuel and air from the auxiliary premixing chamber such that combustible gases emitted from the auxiliary emitter segment can be ignited even when no combustible gases are being emitted from portions of the emitter arrangement that are fed from the primary premixing chamber.

HOT SURFACE IGNITERS FOR COOKTOPS

Hot surface igniter assemblies used in cooktops are shown and described. The hot surface igniters include a silicon nitride ceramic body with an embedded, resistive, heat-generating circuit. When energized, the circuit generates temperatures in excess of 2000° F. in under 4 seconds to ignite cooking gas such as natural gas. To prevent damage to the igniter during use or cleaning, an insulator assembly is provided which protects the distal end of the igniter ceramic body from damage while still exposing it to the cooking gas flow from the burner. In addition, a number of different terminal connection schemes for connecting the igniters to a power source are shown and described.

GAS COOKING APPLIANCE WITH IGNITION POSITION INDICATOR

A cooking appliance and method generate an audible and/or visual indication to a user while an igniter is activated during ignition of a gas burner to notify the user that the igniter is active.

Switch assembly
11353216 · 2022-06-07 · ·

A switch assembly for controlling the ignition of gas burners of a cooking appliance having one or more gas valves. The switch assembly includes at least one first support member, operably couplable to a first gas valve, a spring biased ignition switch operably mountable to the at least one first support member, and an actuating member, having a longitudinal axis and operably couplable to at least the first gas valve between the at least one first support member and at least a control knob of at least the first gas valve. The actuating member is adapted to move between a first position, actuatingly engaged with the ignition switch, and a second position, actuatingly disengaged from the ignition switch, wherein the actuating member is moved towards the first position by at least the control knob, and back towards the second position by the spring biased ignition switch.

LIGHTING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING A CONTROL SETTING OF A COOKING APPLIANCE

Apparatus and method of indicating a control setting of a gas cooking appliance. The gas cooking appliance includes a burner, a flame detector for detecting a flame of the burner, a gas valve that controls gas flow to the burner, a control knob coupled to the gas valve and rotatable to control the gas flow to the burner and a lighting system for emitting different light signals depending on the position of the control knob. The control knob is movable between a closed position where no gas is allowed to pass to the burner and an open position where gas is allowed to pass to the burner, the open position comprising a plurality of operable positions, wherein each operable position is related to a quantity of gas passing to the burner. The lighting system includes a power control assembly cooperating with the control knob and electrically coupled to a lighting device. The power control assembly is also connected to the flame detector so that the lighting device only switches on, according to the gas quantity passing to the burner, only if the flame detector detects a flame.

OUTDOOR PORTABLE GAS STOVE

Disclosed is an outdoor portable gas stove, which includes a stove cover, a burner, a gas pipeline, an ignition device and a flame-out protection device. The burner is arranged in the stove cover, an annular gas passage is formed in the burner, a gas outlet and combustion hole is defined on an upper end face of the burner, and the gas outlet and combustion hole is communicated with the annular gas passage. The ignition device is arranged above the gas outlet and combustion hole and is configured for igniting gas. The gas pipeline is communicated with the annular gas passage, and a control valve is arranged on the gas pipeline.
