A cooking appliance having a casing with a cavity formed therein, a first heat source module configured to emit microwaves being arranged at a side surface of the casing, a second heat source module configure to emit magnetic fields being arranged at a bottom surface of the casing, and a third heat source module configured to generate radiant heat is arranged at an upper portion of the casing, whereby the first, second, and third heat source modules operate simultaneously or alternately.

METHOD FOR OPERATING AN INDUCTION COOKTOP AND INDUCTION COOKTOP
20230003391 · 2023-01-05 ·

In order to detect on an induction cooktop whether a cooking vessel with an integrated controller or smart functionality is arranged over an induction heating coil, the induction heating coils emit a short individual code. The latter can be detected and evaluated by the cooking vessel such that the cooking vessel emits a signal corresponding to this code which is received by an external operating means or the induction cooktop to locally associate this cooking vessel with this induction heating coil. Transmission or transfer of energy as a code proceeds at a frequency of at least 50 kHz, wherein a code has a plurality of pulse sequences, each of which has at least two pulses.

ELECTRIC RANGE OF WHICH HEAT POWER IS CONTROLLED WITHOUT USER INTERVENTION, AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
20220412567 · 2022-12-29 ·

Disclosed are an electric range of which heat power is controlled without user intervention, and a control method therefor. The electric range controls heat power by using a gesture in which a user lifts an object to be heated. The electric range comprises a case; a cover plate which is coupled to the upper end of the case and which has an upper surface on which the object to be heated can be arranged; a heating part, which is disposed inside the case, for heating the object to be heated; and a control part for controlling the heating part. The control part controls the heating part so as to reduce the heating power generated by the heating part when the object to be heated, which is heated by the heating part, is lifted from the upper surface of the cover plate.

An infrared heating apparatus includes a sheet of ceramic glass having a passband in the infrared spectrum, a metal resistive element having a first portion that is covered by a ceramic refractory material and a second portion that is exposed by the ceramic refractory material, and a controller that controls the metal resistive element to emit infrared radiation in a wavelength corresponding to the passband of the ceramic glass.

COOKING APPLIANCE WITH ELECTRICAL COOKING ELEMENT DRYING OPERATIONS
20220404024 · 2022-12-22 ·

A cooking appliance and method of operation thereof in which cooking element drying operations are implemented to drive moisture out of the electrically-insulative material in a sheathed electrical cooking element. In many instances, the cooking element drying operations are of relatively short duration and/or include multiple cycles to drive moisture out of the electrically-insulative material without generating sufficient leakage current to cause a GFCI trip, and in some instances, while maintaining a surface temperature of the cooking element below a temperature that could cause a skin burn to occur and/or for items in contact with the cooking element to be damaged.

Knock detection device and household appliance including the same
11532194 · 2022-12-20 · ·

A knock detection device includes a proximity sensor, at least one sound sensor, and a signal processing unit. The proximity sensor and the sound sensor are respectively electrically connected to the signal processing unit. The signal processing unit receives and/or processes the signal of the sound sensor according to the signal of the proximity sensor. A household appliance includes the knock detection device. The knock detection device is disposed inside the household appliance on the back side of a panel provided for knocking by a user.

Sequential broiling

Several embodiments include a cooking appliance/instrument (e.g., oven). The cooking instrument can draw an alternating current (AC) power and generate a maximum available power for a heating system of the cooking instrument via a power component that converts the drawn AC power. The cooking instrument can then directionally heat each of different zones in a cooking chamber of the cooking instrument in sequence using one or more heating elements of the heating system on at least one side of the cooking chamber such that each step in the sequence utilizes the maximum available power for the heating system.

CONNECTED FOOD PREPARATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE

A connected oven, including a set of in-cavity sensors and a processor configured to automatically identify foodstuff within the cooking cavity, based on the sensor measurements; and automatically operate the heating element based on the foodstuff identity.

COOKING ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM
