Methods and articles of manufacture are disclosed for more efficient ventilation of fumes and odor laden air from the kitchen. Flexible or three dimensionally moveable auxiliary ducts are used to further connect the kitchen's permanent/existing ventilation system to the pots and pans during the cooking or frying processes to suck the fume or odor laden air at the time it leaves the cooking container. In various embodiments the auxiliary ducts are permanently, semi-permanently, or detachably connected to the kitchen's existing ventilation system and/or to the pots and pans. In some embodiments the auxiliary ducts may have their own active suction component(s) and/or filter(s).

Cooktops with integrated extraction hoods and scales

A cooktop may include: a main body having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a suction opening; at least one cooking area configured to accommodate a heating element proximate to the top surface; suction means in fluid communication with the suction opening and configured to draw in cooking fumes; a support element connected to the main body; and weight sensing means between the support element and the main body for sensing a weight of objects to be weighed. The support element may at least partially overlap the suction means. The suction means may include: a suction duct in fluid communication with the suction opening; and a housing in fluid communication with the suction duct and configured to receive filters for the cooking fumes. The weight sensing means may be at the suction duct and/or the housing. The suction opening may be on the top surface.

Air-circulating module and fume extraction device

An air-circulator includes an housing with an air inlet, an air outlet opening, an odor filter, and an insertion opening for inserting the odor filter. The odor filter is assigned to the air outlet opening.

MOTOR FOR A SUCTION ASSEMBLY OF AN ENHANCED-PERFORMANCE EXTRACTOR HOOD

Example embodiments of the described technology provide an exhaust hood for removing effluent plumes produced by cooking activity. The exhaust hood may comprise an exhaust fan operable to create a region of negative pressure beneath the exhaust hood for drawing air entraining the effluent plumes into the exhaust hood. The exhaust hood may also comprise one or more plenum chambers in fluid communication with the exhaust fan. The exhaust hood may also comprise one or more orifices in fluid communication with the one or more plenum chambers, the orifices located along a front edge of the exhaust hood. The exhaust hood may also comprise a filter for cleaning the air drawn into the exhaust hood such that air entraining the effluent plumes drawn into the exhaust hood by the exhaust fan is drawn through the filter to yield cleaned air. The exhaust hood may deliver at least a portion of the cleaned air into the one or more plenum chambers. The orifices may be configured to eject the portion of the cleaned air as one or more jets arranged to provide an air curtain.

Control device for a modular hob system

A modular hob system includes a control device for controlling all components of the hob system.
