Exhaust apparatus, system, and method for enhanced capture and containment

An exhaust system includes a ventilated ceiling component with multiple surfaces and recesses. Each recess has an exhaust intake, the recesses being distributed over an area of a ceiling that has a perimeter adjacent the recesses. The perimeter has a jet register located below the exhaust intake and configured to generate jets, a first of the jets being directed toward and located below at least one of the exhaust intakes and a second of the jets being directed substantially vertically downward. The perimeter further has a displacement ventilation register.

Adjustable Venting System

In one embodiment, a method includes determining, by a computing device, a location of a source of air contamination associated with a heating element and determining, based at least on the location of the source of air contamination, at least one of an optimal venting location or an optimal venting size of at least one vent of a venting system. The method further includes at least one of: (1) automatically adjusting a respective current location of the at least one vent of the venting system to a respective subsequent location based on the determined optimal venting location; or (2) automatically adjusting a respective current size of the at least one vent of the venting system to a respective subsequent size based on the determined optimal venting size.

A commercial cooking equipment exhaust hood system includes a hood structure including an inlet opening to an exhaust flow path through the hood. A filter unit is positioned along the exhaust flow path. An electrostatic precipitator unit is downstream of the filter unit. The electrostatic precipitator includes an ionizing section upstream of a collecting section. The ionizing section includes a plurality of ionizing flow paths having side profile patterns that vary in width between at least one wide section and at least one narrow section. The collecting section includes a plurality of collecting flow paths with side profile patterns of substantially uniform width and a repeating undulating side profile pattern. A UV light source may also be provided within the hood, with a controller operatively connected to control the UV light source via a dimmer to enable selective production various UV levels.

Telescoping downdraft ventilator alignment assembly

A telescoping downdraft ventilator with a system for self-aligning a vent within a housing is provided. The telescoping downdraft ventilator of the present invention comprises a housing with a side panel that includes a channel, a vent sized to fit within the housing, a drive assembly that moves the vent along the channel, and a guide attached to the vent for engaging the channel, wherein the guide is operably coupled with a biasing element. In one embodiment, a pair of guides is respectively coupled with a pair of springs and is positioned on opposite sides of the vent along a line that is substantially perpendicular to a pair of channels.

System and method for mounting undercabinet ventilation hood

A method for installing a ventilation hood to an underside of a wall cabinet including providing a ventilation hood having a housing, a removable utility structure with an aligning mechanism and at least one hanger stud. The removable utility structure is placed proximate the wall cabinet in at least one measuring position, wherein the aligning mechanism of the removable utility structure locates anchorage points of the ventilation hood. Hanger studs are secured in the anchorage points. The removable utility structure is secured to the housing in a structural position at least partially covering an electrical system of the ventilation hood. The housing is placed on the hanger studs to secure the ventilation hood proximate the wall cabinet. Electrical power is connected to the electrical system while the housing is secured on the hanger studs. The housing of the ventilation hood is then secured to the wall cabinet.

Since the air curtain unit is movable between a first position at which the air curtain unit is disposed close to the body and a second position at which the air curtain unit protrudes from the body, it may allow gas produced by a cooking apparatus disposed below the air curtain unit to be efficiently discharged.

An air duct system conveys air between the inlet and the outlet, and a blower draws air from the ambient environment of the cooking appliance adjacent to the cooktop into the inlet and through the air duct system to be expelled through the outlet back into the ambient environment.

A system and method for installing a ventilation hood to an underside of a wall cabinet includes providing structure for initially establishing mounting or anchoring points for the ventilation hood, securing first mounting structure for the ventilation hood, supporting the ventilation hood on the first mounting structure, and then further securing the ventilation hood with an additional fastening arrangement to complete the installation.
