Water Heater Controller or System

A method of measuring the amount of energy consumed from a water heater having a tank with two or more temperature sensors located a predetermined heights on or in the tank, the method including the step of; for each sensor, determining a corresponding volume of a segment of the tank, measuring the change of temperature at each temperature sensor, calculating the energy for the corresponding volume for each sensor, and summing the energy changes for all the sensors to determine the amount of energy consumed. The energy usage can be recorded with chronological information to construct a usage pattern which can be used for controlling the heater and for providing the user with details of energy usage. The system does not require the use of data derived from a flow meter.

The present invention relates to HVAC-systems operating under new ZERO-MIXING (ZM) water flow condition as innovative way to promote consistent highly energy efficient performance on SOURCE-heating/cooling thermal production and BUILDING's system distribution (FIG. 1). ZM technology is applicable; but not limited, to large-residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Current state on HVAC technology, for system hydronics loop-flow, do not provide flows temperature segregation mechanisms between heating/chiller-plants hot/cold water supply and warmer water system returns. The result, a system that continuously operates at WATER MIXING conditions that impair equipment efficiency and output, and therefore, overall system energy performance.

COGENERATION SYSTEM
20240413358 · 2024-12-12 ·

A cogeneration system has a fuel cell, a fuel cell system, and an indirect supply line. The fuel cell system has a first heat exchange unit, a heat storage tank, and a waste heat recovery line. The first heat exchange unit is positioned close to an outer side of the fuel cell or inside thereof and causes a heat medium to recover heat generated at the fuel cell. The heat storage tank stores the heat medium and provides heat in response to a hot-water supply demand. The waste heat recovery line causes the heat medium to circulate between the fuel cell and the heat storage tank. The indirect supply line includes a second heat exchange unit that supplies heat by causing the heat medium stored in the heat storage tank and a medium to exchange heat with each other.
