According to the housing assembly provided in the present disclosure, when an electric control box is to be maintained, only the first sub-panel is removed to expose the electric control box, without removing two panels to expose the electric control box, thereby reducing the difficulty of electric control maintenance and improving the convenience of electric control maintenance.

The cover can further include a tab extending from the top wall into the interior compartment, a first side clip extending obliquely from the first side wall into the interior compartment, and a second side clip extending obliquely from the second side wall to the interior compartment. The tab and side clips can be configured to engage the air conditioner to retain the cover on the air conditioner.

An outdoor unit includes a motor. The motor includes a rotor having a rotor core and a permanent magnet fixed to the rotor core, the permanent magnet forming a magnet magnetic pole, a part of the rotor core forming a virtual magnetic pole, and a stator surrounding the rotor. The outdoor unit further includes a frame holding the motor, a support body supporting the frame, a unit housing in which the frame and the support body are housed, and a nonmagnetic body disposed between the support body and the unit housing.

An outdoor unit includes a motor. The outdoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus includes the compressor installed inside a casing and the soundproof material covering at least the compressor. The soundproof material includes a lower soundproof material surrounding a lateral periphery of a lower portion of the compressor and an upper soundproof material surrounding a lateral periphery of an upper portion of the compressor.

An outdoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus enabling a soundproof material to correctly cover a compressor and having enhanced assembling efficiency and a method for assembling the outdoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus are provided. The outdoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus includes the compressor installed inside a casing and the soundproof material covering at least the compressor. The soundproof material includes a lower soundproof material surrounding a lateral periphery of a lower portion of the compressor and an upper soundproof material surrounding a lateral periphery of an upper portion of the compressor.

An outer casing of an outdoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus includes: a body in which a first opening is formed to be continuous in a side portion and a back portion; and a first panel that covers the first opening and whose cross section has an L shape. The first panel includes: a side panel that covers a part formed in the side portion of the first opening; a back panel that covers a part formed in the back portion of the first opening; and a plurality of claw portions. One of the plurality of claw portions is a first claw portion having a plate-like shape and protruding upward from an upper end portion of the back panel. The back portion of the body includes: a first plate having a lower end portion in which a cutout is formed; and a second plate disposed forward of the first plate.

An outer casing of an outdoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus includes: a body in which a first opening is formed to be continuous in a side portion and a back portion; and a first panel that covers the first opening and whose cross section has an L shape. The first panel includes: a side panel that covers a part formed in the side portion of the first opening; a back panel that covers a part formed in the back portion of the first opening; and a plurality of claw portions. One of the plurality of claw portions is a first claw portion having a plate-like shape and protruding upward from an upper end portion of the back panel. The back portion of the body includes: a first plate having a lower end portion in which a cutout is formed; and a second plate disposed forward of the first plate.

Disclosed is an air conditioner including a first frame including a through hole, a second frame rotatably coupleable to the first frame, the second frame including a burring portion at least a portion of which is insertable into the through-hole in a first direction, where while the burring portion is inserted into the through-hole of the first frame, the burring portion protrudes in the first direction, and a burring hole formed by the burring portion, and a fastening member insertable into the burring hole in a second direction opposite to the first direction and configured to function as a rotary shaft of the second frame, where while the fastening member is inserted into the burring hole, the fastening member protrudes in the second direction.
