System that retains continuity of equipment operational data upon replacement of controllers and components

A program for light commercial building system (LCBS) solutions. Solutions and other systems may incorporate lightweight alerting service, auto-adjustment of gateway poll rates based on the needs of various consuming applications, detecting loss of space comfort control in a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, HVAC capacity loss alerting using relative degree days and accumulated stage run time with operational equivalency checks, and HVAC alerting for loss of heat or cool capacity using delta temperature and dependent system properties. Also, incorporated may be triggering s subset of analytics by automatically inferring HVAC equipment details from controller configuration details, ensuring reliability of analytics by retaining logical continuity of HVAC equipment operational data even when controllers and other parts of the system are replaced, and an LCBS gateway with workflow and mechanisms to associate to a contractor account.

Integrated smart actuator and valve device applications

An integrated device in an HVAC system is configured to modify an environmental condition of a building. The integrated device includes a valve configured to regulate a flow of a fluid through a conduit and an actuator. The actuator includes a motor and a drive device. The drive device is driven by the motor and coupled to the valve for driving the valve between multiple positions. The integrated device further includes a processing circuit coupled to the motor. The processing circuit is configured to detect device identifying information for the valve or the actuator and to detect the integrated device location within the building.

Effectiveness maps

Embodiments determine the effect of an environmental maintenance device on other environmental maintenance devices in environmentally controlled space. The determined effects may be modeled and graphically represented using, for example, an effectiveness map. In the case of a data center, an exemplary effectiveness map may illustrate the effect that one or more computer room air conditioners (CRACs) have on themselves and on other CRACs in the data center. In the case of an office building, an exemplary effectiveness map may illustrate the effect that one or more selected variable air volume (VAV) terminal units have on their own thermostat readings and the thermostat readings of other VAV terminal units in the office building.

Occupant thermal comfort inference using body shape information

Occupant thermal comfort may be inferred and improved using body shape information. Height, weight, and shoulder circumference of an occupant of a room may be obtained using a depth sensor. A model may be utilized that is trained on a dataset including information reflecting of occupant comfort within the room versus temperature, the model receiving, as inputs, the height, the weight, and the shoulder circumference of the occupant and environmental information and outputting a comfort class. A temperature set-point for is identified which the room occupant is identified by the model as having the comfort class being indicative of user comfort. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) controls are adjusted for the room to the identified temperature set-point.
